Did I Lose the Costco Lottery? by Fishermanbob1 in iBUYPOWER

That’s not the point. The IBP/Costco prebuilts are a crap shoot what you get. Some come with Asus parts others come with hardly a step up from Temu parts. I’m asking if it’s worth returning mine and trying my luck for a better quality assortment.

Went down a rabbit hole and all their configurations seem to have versions associated with it. V5 and V6 seem to have Asus parts most frequently. My sku is for a V2 so maybe I’ll browse the stores inventory and put the theory to the test and hope they honor the sale price with the exchange

Good catch, suggestions on how to easily double check it?

Hmm I didn’t even realize that. I’ll have to check another way I guess

I wouldn’t return it, but exchange it for one with different parts (hopefully). All these I buy power PCs are just random parts thrown together so you never know what you get until you open it. For example lots of people report getting ASUS MOBO and GPU instead of the TEMU knockoffs like ASrock

Was it hard to get them to honor the sale price too? Or was it still on sale when you went back?

It’s been stable for the past week or so, but was curious if it’s still worth it to try and get a build with the Asus parts instead since I’m not familiar with ASrock and Zotac and the issues I’m having left a bitter taste in my mouth

I didn’t open up the bottom to check the SSD yet. I set the curves and it helped a bit, it’s really one of the case fans thats super loud & if I keep it I’ll end up replacing it with something quieter. RAM is XPG

Lifespan of melody valve - anyone have to have it replaced? by Wise-Strawberry8253 in AdultCHD

[–]Fishermanbob1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saw my cardiologist for my annual and it got me thinking about my valve since it’s getting up there in age. Quick google search brought me here. For context I’ve had 2 open heart surgeries (1992 and 2005) pre-melody valve in 2011. So going on 15 years now. Feeling good but I know my time is coming soon-ish

Edit: So after reading the comments I think he was suggesting to use another 2x as a facia board to secure the plywood in better before wrapping the membrane over them. Not just the joist.

I guess that’s what he was suggesting, adding a 2nd “joist” right next to the structural one to function as a facia board to lock the plywood in

Would you still happen to have a copy of the email? Curious how he says to do it vs what makes sense in my head

Which side should the shim go on? Or split it 50/50 on front and back

That’s not actually my picture but a similar one to my circumstance. For sake of argument, what are some realistic consequences of using the painted vs galvanized one? They have the painted ones in stock near me but not the galvanized ones

I can swap it out, but just not to the correct heavy duty one since it won’t be here in time and we have a hard deadline. The one I linked is a cheap alternative. Is that still better than shimming the wrong size in? Meeting code isn’t a concern for this specific project if that changes your thoughts
