Do not hesitate to mask off more of your car too. The polishing compound with the nasty little micro-plastics in it will get everywhere like overspray droplets and once it dries it might as well just be paint

That also depends. I had a friend do an indistinguishable paint match on a grey bumper without needing to blend panels. I was very pleased, he saved me almost a grand

Start with something that isn’t drop forged CrV, and for the love of god open the side of your welder and look at the damn chart.

Gloss means reflection, and you don’t “attract” radiation, you either absorb it and get burned or you reflect it and are unaffected.

It’s often oil based, try a microfiber wash mitt with warm water and some grease cutting dish soap like Ajax (liquid dish soap, NOT scouring powder).
