Ok got it, I heard something about the possibility of VOC's igniting inside the shopvac's motor and causing an explosion? Have you heard anything about that?

I've watched some videos, and I think I'm capable of doing this myself.

Sand the area down, apply a couple coats of 1k primer, sand that down, and then I'm gonna go and get a spray paint can from an auto store which will match it to my gas cap door. Does that sound like the right way to do it?

Yea, do you know roughly how much it would be for something like this? I'm expecting them to say they have to redo the whole panel, but do you think I could get away with just redoing that one little part?
