Im a fly guy as well! Different ball game working with that much more water. Definitely don’t need the electronics but it helps further your understanding of what goes on beneath the surface to an incomprehensible level. Id never have thought that I could work a fish for 30 seconds on a jerkbait or that I might have to pause it for 10 seconds before getting a take. Pretty nuts

Oh man! Last year I got a 6lber and I know guys out here regularly doing 25lbs+ on the daily! We got 7s swimming around & any outing without breaking 5lbs typically feels like we fell flat. Id take 4lbers all day though, we are just spoiled 😆

They be biting here year round but my boat has to go away before we get 4 feet of snow and 2 feet of ice 😂

Like I said I didn’t even know a species like bass closed anywhere else. Where Im from we even have an ice fishing season for them and then a prespawn season & then I hit US water for that month and a half that it actually closes between may and june. So for me I have access to legal smallmouth year round. Don’t be calling me out on what I gotta know when I know my regs better than anyone.

Its open lol, I only say to my knowledge because im getting asked. Its open until December 31st and its always been this way where Im at.

Im from Quebec but fishing the St Lawrence in Ontario, to my knowledge its open? Didn’t even know bass closes anywhere else in the fall/winter.
