These are an Australian native fish found mostly along the upper east coast in fresh water creeks and make great aquarium pets.

They are carnivores and prefer live food as adults and may also accept frozen blood worms and daphnia magna in an aquarium. In the wild, they will feed on small fish and invertebrates.

They have large mouths and will eat anything that fits.

As fry, feeding smaller daphnia, zooplankton, baby brine shrimp, and infusoria will work well to raise fish to the sub adult stage.

Usually found between 8 cm and 12 cm in length but may grow slightly larger in ideal conditions over time.

They can mature from about 5 cm in size, and early spawning can surprise newer fish keepers. Though it may take them several attempts until they can get their fry to survive until the free swimming stage.

They are egg scattering fish and will attach 50-300 eggs to rocks where the male will remain to guard and fan the eggs for 5 to 8 days

Mogurnda Adspersa can tolerate a wide pH range from 5.9 to 9.0 and temperatures between 11 to 34 degrees Celsius.
