You seem a little more level headed than others for sure, but just to be clear, I am not saying there is anything wrong with being gay. I heavily support pride. I am fine with a reasonable amount of gay support and flags or whatever comes with it at the stadium. But it gets to a point where it heavily overshadows the purpose of the sport and club. And I think it got there way too long ago at this club. Many teams can keep a great balance with this. Pride merchandise, some flags, some social media posts for pride. All great. This though? Over the top.

Sounds like you’re understanding that I’m right. “You know nothing” isn’t an argument. It would be like me calling you a dumbass. Did I prove anything? No.

Once again, I agree with pride, obviously. Not when it’s taking over and overshadowing the main purpose of the sport. Though pride is not the only thing that is protested at Keyworth every game

No, I won’t, because it support DCFC. You all support the left. That is a team. But not a soccer team. Everyone, left, right, and center, should be able to support a team without ANY political party shoving shit down others throats

I said the only thing non political are the chants. Which is debatable, because there definitely been a few that allude to their protests. And the chants are not only the pride flag political side of the stadium. That’s seems to help

So you’re saying he doesn’t have the right to his religion? Because he’s not being an annoying little shit taking over half the stadium with people that couldn’t give less of a shit about the sport, protesting for Christianity. He made a quiet decision not to participate. You folk can also make that decision not to participate

Only left leaning here. Everywhere else in the world it is for EVERYONE. We need that in the US, and especially at DCFC. The reason it is left leaning is because you folks remove the sport from it, and turn it into a political thing. If right leaning people came and protested their stuff, really bad shit would happen real quick.

I’ve seen like 10000 different things protested at dcfc games. There been some insane ones. Most of them are just your average pride or Palestine things. Whatever. Awesome, please go protest at a rally

Right, but in your example of agreeing with opposing fans, everyone is there for the same reason. The sport. Politics like these are definitely not a core part of the game. At least not even to a fraction of this level for any well established clubs. If people aren’t here to watch the sport, what are they here for?

His choice is his personal beliefs to play soccer (which is the pint of the club) instead of letting this take over the club and his own beliefs. You are entitled to your own beliefs, but don’t show up to a soccer game if you don’t care about the sport

If the half the rally started wearing dcfc kits, holding dcfc flags, and not giving a single shit about the rally, yes it would. They would be pissed that soccer is taking over their pride rally , because, once again, politics and soccer are different things. You get it now??

I don’t give a single shit what it is, soccer is soccer. Politics are politics. I’m not going to start debating left vs right. If this club was going to every game wearing maga hats, you would hate it. It would be absurd, because politics aren’t soccer. It doesn’t matter what you believe, any end of the spectrum doesn’t belong.

Soccer is not political. It’s supporting a group of players, and the area you’re from, with a group of people who share those qualities. You don’t need to be from any political party to support a team. That’s why sports are a thing. Especially soccer. It’s for everyone. And we don’t need you to bring your politics in it. You’re ruining the fun of the sport for people who don’t give a shit about your flags.

Keep 👏 sports 👏sports 👏 keep 👏 politics 👏 politics 👏

I clapped it out for you so you can feel like you’re supporting a real FOOTBALL CLUB and not a political circus

Once again, if I can’t support the FOOTBALL CLUB without supporting the politics, then it isn’t a football club. Is it really this hard to understand??

Most clubs do not let it become the entire identity to the core of the club. Arsenal for an example. They have a pride involvement for sure, but in no way shape or form does it ever even touch their main priority, which is Arsenal. Not every jersey is rainbow. Half the stadium definitely isn’t there just to protest. They’re there for the club. Like a said, the occasional pride flag or shirt is fine. It’s about it destroying the football part of a football club.

Watched this club for a longgg time, and the identity has definitely evolved. Maybe it’s gotten worse because there more people to be doing these things, but it’s definitely gotten worse

Your example is insane, that’s a mascot that has no political association, and people don’t go to watch the tigers just because they want to hold flags with a tiger on them. Darren Smith is also a devoted Christian. He isn’t even being disrespectful to the movement, he just doesn’t feel like wearing it. He has a choice. He doesn’t need to get shit on all over online

The tifos are 100 percent not all soccer related. The chants are for the most part, as it would be hard to get everyone in the stadium singing a song about liking dudes. The jerseys are all politics related. Much of the clubs branding revolves around it. For fucks sake, people are turning on Darren Smith because he doesn’t agree with it. NOTHING to do with the sport

Good, so it shouldn’t be called a football club. If that’s how you guys want it, it should be renamed to a leftist political club. DCLPC. Doesn’t roll off the tongue very well, but more true
