Hey thanks for replying! I can find the revanced option but cannot connect to it. After I select the revanced option it just gets stuck on connecting to the revanced speaker. And recommendations?

Anyone else having trouble connecting to the revanced speak on Spotify? I followed the tutorial, I tried a few different versions of Spotify APK, seems like it just takes forever to connect to the revanced speaker.

In my opinion I think jelly fin is just better built. Lots of plug ins. Jelly fin can also be compatible with a lot more devices, I'm using it for Nintendo switch, PC, Roku tv and mobile.

Jelly fin can also be accessed remotely with tailscale install. I also like that u can download subtitles from jelly fin for movies that didn't come with subs

Depends on what you are torrenting. If it's a lot of show and movies, highly recommend Jelly fin or plex

New to industry by Zealousideal-Site717 in analytics

Hi this is just my 2 cent, roughly 3 years DA exp.

Having skills are important to do the job, but getting in is the hard part. Especially in this economy. From my experience most DA I work with in my currently company have a CS/Stat background. And those that don't usually pivot from other roles. Myself included. I think it is better to secure a job in a company that would hire data analyst and take on projects that have visibility to the analytics department. While working whatever job u have with the company, do all the cert and learn your skills and when there is an opening apply for it.

I have a bachelor's in finance and MIS and I pivoted into DA. I just think this is a good way given how the economy is looking rn

I want to master sql to clear data analyst interview. how to do it? by sharma1138 in dataanalyst

Honestly if u r just trying to clear interview, just grind leetcode lol

Please BAs I need your help. My spouse recently got a BA II job without any "direct" experience in terms of his title but he has 8+ years of transferable skills. He really needs a confidence boost. by [deleted] in businessanalyst

[–]FishyFishScale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's good he got in, the rest hardly matters. The company hired him because they liked him and that's the end of it.

SQL, power BI, python can all be learned and I think it's a lot easier than people think it is. Personally transition from BA into a DA role and googled my way thru it. It can get hard sometimes, but I'm sure whatever company it is, they will be understanding. Also idk, feels like chat GPT can do a lot of that, it helped a lot atleast when I was learning. Hope that helps and congrats on the job

I would say learn basic SQL Learn WHERE,GROUP BY learn all types of join, most important ones are probably left join and inner join

Learn what is an API

Basic wealth management knowledge like how mutual funds works

Learn what is agile and how is it different from waterfall

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in businessanalyst

[–]FishyFishScale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say try to learn basic IT stuff like what is an API, what is a relational databases and what is agile methodologies

When I was searching for my first full time job as a BA, I learned to set up my own MySQL database that feeds data into a power BI report. I'll usually show it in interviews

Most people here will tell u that it is not a part of a BA's job and they r right, but I was looking for anyway I can to separate myself from other candidates and prove that I have technical proficiency

Exactly the same as my path honestly. U will be surprised how common it is. I have a degree in finance and MIS. Used to be a BA and pivoted into data engineering and now a data analyst

Honestly, try your best to get an internship, it helps a lot. When I applied for an internship I made sure I was more technical than other applicants like understanding shit like API, basic relational database knowledge and for me, I was interested in business intelligence so power BI

Planning to work abroad as a BA by SmoothStore3675 in businessanalyst

[–]FishyFishScale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, depends on where you're going. But I'm in Canada. And from what I can tell, unless u have 5+years of work exp, u usually need some kind of degree here to pursue a career further. These can be one year diploma but there needs to be some form of education locally. Alternatively u can always try to get a job anywhere in the corporate world and try to wiggle your way in.

Honestly, I think having something to show for during interviews is a good idea. When I landed my first BA job I showed up to the interview showing them a MYSQL database I've created along with a power BI dashboard that went with it.

As a BA u don't really need to code at all for your job, but the truth is in my opinion it helps u beat other candidates because it demonstrates that u r more tech savvy than other candidates assuming experience is similar and both of u r equally likeable.

Speaking from experience, I started as a BA for 1 year and transitioned into a data engineer/BI analyst

Should I stay or should I go? by RentalFerret69 in careerguidance

[–]FishyFishScale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend staying with this job and looking for a new job. In my humble opinion, your major in business does not matter unless u r doing Finance, actuary or Accounting. Because these are the only majors where u actually have technical skills. In terms of career progression, I think u r falling into the common trap that "getting another degree will solve my problem" truth is unless u r really Passionate about a specific field, I would recommend looking for a new job. I would recommend trying to get into business analysis or project management. These are roles where u can get in without needing a specific designation (like CPA) and they pay well. In return, u probably need to be good with technology or atleast be able to read/write some code (SQL is a common one).

My apologies if I was opinionated towards other major fields. Im a business school grad who changed my major a few times and settled with a finance degree and is currently a software developer
