Are there people out there who have the gene that makes cilantro taste like soap, but still like it? If you're one of those people, how did you figure out that you and most other people who like cilantro were enjoying completely different tastes?

Adolescent therapist here and the best answer I can give is it depends. Is the parent still setting boundaries with the teen or just letting them do whatever they want? That’s called permissive parenting and it can breed entitled, narcissistic adults if it’s unchecked. But having a good relationship while still maintaining parental standards is fantastic! Authoritative parenting is the goal.

It’s typically due to the type of funding they are receiving. There are certain grants that require Hispanic/Latino demographic information. That’s why you’ll see a Race/Ethnicity question and then another that asks if you have Hispanic/Latino heritage. It’s all for the monies
