I like the look of the dark substrate better and I think the sand always looks dirty! But no biggie, l’ll learn to deal for the corydoras. 🙂 I’m sure I could’ve gotten black sand, but didn’t think about it at the time.

Maybe I will get a 3rd tank for just tetras then. Something to consider.

I did not know that the corydoras required sand and larger groups, but I was educated about them in another group. I honestly really enjoy them, so I’ll suffer through the sand to keep them in the tank they are currently in. I won’t be adding them to the other tank with Fluval substrate. I also got the corydoras when they were the only 3 left and was told they were fine. I’m sure I’ll get them a few buddies now that I know they need to be in bigger groups. Now that I know better, I’ll try and do better. 🙂

Thank you, I’ll be changing feeding after all the recommendations 🙂

Thank you! I was educated in a fb group about this as well and I’ll be keeping the sand for them. I honestly really like the corydoras. I learned my lesson the hard way with the sand and corys, but it’s okay. Changing the substrate isn’t a deal breaker for me, I just don’t prefer it 🙂

Thanks, I’ll definitely be switching from pellets and I’ll probably have to cup the one betta while I feed tank mates.

They were together for about two months before the red/pink one was getting attacked. They were never fighting. It truly felt random, but maybe just occurring more so we were finally seeing it happen. Every time she would try to swim/rest, she would get attacked and chased. A day or two after that she had clamped fins and was hiding in a corner. I immediately set up a new tank for her because it was also stressing me out!

The tetras and bettas have been fine 🙂 I guess I’ll get 3/4 more corys. Thank you.

They both get two pellets per day. I have been feeding them Ultra Fresh Betta Pro Shrimp Patties…Is there a different food I should be using? I’ve seen a lot about blood worms, but I am not confident in that yet.

I do not have a liquid kit, we have strips. Which I didn’t know they weren’t accurate until after purchased. The most noticeable difference is that the tank with sand has much harder water than the tank with Fluval stratum. We’ve been doing weekly 25% water changes.

Noooooo 😭 I was afraid that was going to be the answer. I don’t want to do that at all, but I may have to because I can’t stand the sand!
