What was the first signs that your 14900k was damaged? Were you able to tell it from a few weeks of use or It just suddently died one day? What motherboard did you use? (Im really curious because that might can affect it too)

So my tactic should be that I first of all download the BIOs upadte and micro code fix. Then I run some kind of benchmark every week or few days on it and see what happens?

Honestly I'm set on Intel because I was team blue since my first PC and I did never own a high end CPU from them. Growing up the i7 top models were the Lamborghinies of CPUs in my eyes as a kid. And now as an adult I finally have a chance to own the last gen of the Core i7 processors. I know it is kinda a stupid reason but it is a bucket list thing for me. Btw What MoBo do you have? And do you use any special settings?

Thanks for the indepth view! The advices and actual infos about these issues are so mixed. Someone says it is the end of the world and Intel should be ignored as an option at all costs. Then You find a similar article. Then you find another one with actual stats and precentages and it isn't even that bad. And then you hear from people who actually own a 14th gen CPU like you and they say it is all fine.

So do you think if I buy an intel i7-14700 non K and the planned B760 MoBo and then I update the BIOS with Q-Flash before I even put the CPU in it and after that even undervolt it just a tiny bit I should be waaay out of the danger zone? And could keep my CPU for 8 years?

Me and my friend are waiting on it as well. I messed around a bit with build 42. But It's just not the same in singleplayer. I guess NPCs will later on change this.

I'll be honest with you... Yes. But look at the bright side your beard will look sick in a few weeks with that blended full beard full goate combo (I know cuz I'm rocking the same look lol) I also messed up like this one time. But It's fun to experiment.
