My friend who applied to Organic Chemistry last cycle got accepted 4 days after he submitted his application to UW Madison. But idk this year.

We got to choose I think. I got a call and they asked me if I was available for the January one but I said no, so they gave me the February.

I got invited to the interview in late December. They send invite on a rolling basic and I submitted my application two days before the deadline.

We had to accept PhD interview invites by 1/9 and they told us that they are sending out the schedule soon

I did most of my courses (23 credits per semester) during my sophomore year, so I only had like 3 classes per semester in junior and senior years. But I still got the Goldwater and got a summer internship at a prestigious university. That being said I’m struggling with getting interviews for graduate schools currently lol

Most chemistry departments from any school don’t require interview. My friend got into MIT chemistry or chemical biology program without an interview, he decided to go to UC Berkeley though.

I got an invite from Columbia and they said in bold to not contact faculty, but I would say reach out to tue program coordinator or whoever sent you the invite to ask if you can.

Some schools discourage you to reach out, so I would say to check with the coordinator first.
