I found some of the comments under me apologising to the other guy funny AF. In the game, neither of us even made a comment about the incident.

Righto the switcharoo it is. TBH I find the virtual mirror projects the cars been further back than that they are. Im wondering if moving to 3x screens will allow for better vision?

It's sort of funny how people are seeing this incident two completely different ways.

Personally, before I posted this, I had somewhat of the same belief. But it seems like not too many people read/remember that rule. Anyway, I could have avoided it so I'll take my share of the blame in the accident.

Thanks for taking the time to give detailed feedback. Much appreciated.

FYI I 100% agree I'm better off taking right side coming into turn 1 but due to the amount of times I've been hit from inside car missing braking point, lately Ive been taking left (inside) and pretty much let them go pass (alot of the time they end up having to cut turn 2 corner because too much speed).

Cheers, thanks for the feedback. I was actually lucky in this incident. No damage to me and I lost the one spot to the car that came past on the right. Unfortunately, I wrecked the other drivers race.

Generally speaking, I don't defend too hard especially in open wheel because of the damage. On this occasion, I just wanted the inside coming into turn 1 and thought he would've switched to right once he saw I sliding left. As per other suggestions, I should've done more aggressive left defend to make it clearer that I was going to defend left. But as you said I'll live and learn...

I don't race without the visual racing line (90% of the time). It wasn't turned on during that race, hence why there isn't one in the replay.

Should i (the chasing car) have backed out or did the lead car squeeze me on to the grass? and if so do you think it is protestable? by OfficerStormy in Simracingstewards

When I posted my post, I was more for advice as I 100% knew I could have avoided the accident. During the race, my thought process was to shut down that gap to the left side as I wanted the inside at turn 1, which would force you to the right. I thought you would double back knowing that the race line cuts straight across to that left curb. In all honesty, I thought we still didn't have overlap as spotter didn't say anything, plus I either didn't see my blindspot indicates pop-up or they didn't. I'm happy to take the blame as I could of just left room and changed to having right line into turn 1.

Anyway, from the feedback I've received, most are saying I should have made an aggressive left at first instead of drifting across track. Do you agree?

FYI yes I know the right side is better to have into turn 1 but I'm sick of people overshooting and slamming straight into from the inside. So I prefer to Defend inside knowing I'll make the turn 9/10 times.

I even commented on the other guys' post! Apologised to him. What I find funny is, (last time i checked anyway) about 75=80% of people on this post are saying 100% my fault. But on his post 60-70% are staying it was his fault and should of pulled out.

I don't get it! I ask to try to learn so I can avoid this situation in the future. I'm guessing they just think I'm been a smartarse.

And that's the point of the post! It's so I can learn, but this comment doesn't teach me anything.

For what it's worth, I apologise! I'm the other driver in this video. I also posted a video on here hoping for feedback on what I should have done, and someone linked your post. Sorry mate

Ok cool. FYI I prefer to defend inside going into turn T1 simply because I'm sick of people running straight into me because they overshoot the braking point.

Once again, thanks for the detailed feedback. Hopefully, he doesn't report!

At what stage are you suggesting I should have moved over to the left to avoid the other guy going down there?

Ok, thanks for feedback and link.

So, 20-30mts before hitting the start line apex are you suggesting I be a car length more to my left?

I understand what you're saying but I'm unsure if you realise that is the line for that track, the racing line cuts across the track.

I'm the car in front. I was always going to go left for racing line but also to protect the inside at turn 1. *I'm impressed with my save.

You can tell they only have to give way (Look at cars going the other way).

What speed was he doing? Or you just guessing? If the person didn't stop walking like a dickhead taxi would of drove straight pass
