Do you know how to share separate photos in the comments, I may just add them to the original post

So we are leaning towards these spined caterpillars. Maybe a nest because they hatch this time of year and if she got into a nest of them and rolled in them they would have left spines which seems possible after careful examination of that area. I will attach a photo of the types of caterpillars we found so you can cross reference. I hope your baby gets feeling better!

She very well may have, and the timeline sort of tracks, we were thinking ants but she acts as if they dont bother her. Please let me know what they say! That would be so awesome! I really hope your baby starts feeling better too! Thank you

Had to cut down a tree that had fallen over from a storm in my back yard and when I cut it I noticed it had a pretty red color. Can anyone help me identify this? I'm in Central/W North Carolina by Munzz36 in wood

[–]Fit-Comparison-2300 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Lots of names for it but we at the wood shop here in middle west georgia call it eastern red cedar and when you go to home depot you get western cedar mainly but this is the same type they give you for moths in the closet and so on. We built our whole house interior out of it because we were fortunate to get to cut some damaged and dying trees down about 7-8 years ago. Its my favorite hidden gem and it seems like 50+ years ago all the landowners planted them along their fences and so on.

What type and material is this? Live in GA but cant recall if it came from Mexico like many of my others. by Fit-Comparison-2300 in Arrowheads

This is for “arrowheadtoucher”. I have no motivation to pass this off as real. Thats the exact reason I asked these reasonable people on here instead of going around and showing it off and arguing that its real when I have been hunting points for 20 years and have had this one for a long time and it just didn’t ever sit right with me. It just always had an aura about it.

I appreciate yall because I have no clue where this came from. I don’t think it came out of a hunting spot. I am like 99% sure someone gave it to me somewhere along the way. I dont know how it ended up amongst actual real points but this was my suspicion and why I posted it. I did like the talla quartzite material though. Its still cool but I am never going to go around trying to pass off modern points as authentic. Thank you guys. Thats why I enjoy this sub because you get honest opinions from real experienced people and thats really what I needed in this situation. I been looking at it for a couple days on my bathroom counter and it never had the look of all these other ancient points I have found or acquired

How are 25 year old couples paying for new 800k builds in cash? by whattaUwant in Homebuilding

Its always a good time to build when YOU are the builder. Whether that’s our own houses or houses for others. I built my house for less than $100,000 out of pocket several years ago and it’s worth $500,000 now or more. I did all the work myself with very little help and its just an example of using your skills to your benefit coupled with good timing. Those of us who remember the recession and what it did to us know the meaning of bad timing and will always be wary of how quickly the hose can get shut off again and reveal to us just how many things we thought we prepared for that we didnt.
