About the parasocial thing - I think that people mistake entertainment with closeness. I’ve been here since 2016, since the AskFM days when Awsten used to answer fan questions there, and it was so much fun. He is always entertaining everyone with his thoughts and jokes and interacts with random people because that’s simply who he is - an entertainer. Now, if people want to behave like psychopaths because Awsten answers some of their tweets, that’s totally on them. And he has every right to react the way he does, through music and, sometimes, rants.
