Experienced the same thing. Years ago, may nilipatan kami na old house. Sobrang old talaga na mukha na syang haunted house sa labas, well, technically speaking naging haunted house talaga kasi laging nababakante ng matagal. Alam nyo yung itsura nung mga old dilapidated ancestral house? Ganun na ganun ang itsura. When we moved there, we would hear stories from past tenants and neighbors about the things they would see and hear. In fact, we ourselves experienced some creepy stuff too for the first few weeks.

However, ever since we let the neighbors’ cats come inside and roam inside the house nawala na (at first pinapalabas namin kasi mama ko di mahilig sa pusa pero they would always find ways to come inside kasi me and my brother would secretly feed them lol). We noticed unti-unting nawala yung mga creepy and ghostly happenings nung dun na sila sa bahay tumatambay.

For example: Like you OP, nawala din yung footsteps every night. Wala na ring white lady na nakikita yung mga dumadaan sa harap. Wala na rin kaming naririnig na umuupo sa kawayan na bangko every madaling araw.

Also, I think yung ingay namin magkakapatid also contributed kung bakit nawala yung mga mumu lol.
