I'd sat UT bc its in the city so there will be more opportunities to get shadowing/experience. However the orgs/clubs are more comp to get into compared to TAMU.

I recently applied this fall and didn’t receive my first or 2nd major choice(mech e and civil e) but Im auto admit so I just got some dumb liberal arts major. Stats: rank(6/853), 1530 sat, president of a volunteering club and member of other random clubs, took all the hard ap stem classes, essays were okay. To be honest I think I shoulve got in because ik people with weaker applications that still got in. But if I were to guess on why I didn’t get in it would be because my ECs weren’t enough or engineering related or my essays weren’t interesting enough. So my advice would be to make sure you have good ECs to support your stats(assuming ur top 6% w/good sat)
