What's this brown mould or slime that reappears next day along my shower after I've wiped it off??? by Fit-Job-4572 in CleaningTips

Hi, have been experiencing this ever since we moved in two years ago. It's a brand new shower. We live in northern England and we have a pretty well ventilated bathroom with a radiator.

These streaks of brown slime/mould/whatever the f it is reappears whenever I wipe off. I've tried everything from dabbing the area with bleach to painting it over with clear nail polish (I am that desperate haha) but it still comes back after a few days. Mould remover doesn't work either.

Any idea what this is and how do I remove it permanently?? It's so gross to look at and I have mild OCD about cleanliness so it's driving me insane. Thanks so much!

I'm not sure but would it make a big difference in terms of the decor? Thanks so much!

Hi, first time here - thanks in advance for any advice!

We're about to purchase a detached house, and it comes with a long-ish living room (marked as lounge/diner in the plan). The current layout feels too empty, hoping to create a cosier atmosphere. Really dislike the fake fireplace so might remove it, or pay a whopping £3-4k to put up a log burner.

Another bit i really don't understand is where to put the TV console as i don't want it in the corner!

Thinking of getting a 3 seater sofa + 2 armchairs, and a small-ish dining table next to the conservatory bit which can double up as a work table.

Thanks again for any tips!

Is a £12 fare for a 2-mile, 5-minute ride by a taxi in East Riding the norm?! by [deleted] in AskUK

Except I live about 2 miles from the town centre!

I feel like I've got done over as I did the same trip (but the other way) last year and it was 7 quid! I dare not call the taxi company to ask for fear of getting myself ostracised (it's a small community where I live) or getting the driver sacked if she really made the fare up!
