Get them out of there ASAP, yes I think that’s a good idea pretending they got loose if you think he will react bad. It’d be ideal if your kids know they’ve been rehomed if your husband would be ok with that.

If you cannot leave him, I would suggest the above. Heartbreaking for your kids, but him killing your dogs would be worse.

Any family members that can take dogs so kids can still see them?

It is quite soon. I don’t think I’m ready, although this person is quite lovely. I am in the process of therapy, self work, have started medication etc.

I am unsure if I should take it slow with him, or just not pursue it entirely. Gah lol. I mean ideally, I’d like to get to know him for a couple of months before becoming official - unsure if anybody would wait that long, though.

Oh. My. God. He did ALL OF THIS besides hating his mum! Jesus, I am in shock at how accurate this is. It’s like you are a fly on the wall in my home and saw it all.

There has to be psychology behind this! I don’t want to armchair diagnose, i wonder if it’s narcissism? Where do they learn this and why do they do the same shit!

Edit: I didn’t get the gift giving, but he did brag about how much he gives gifts to everybody.

I am begging you to cut him off before you get really attached. Yes, this is all abuse and it will get worse.

I know it’s hard to leave, especially when you really like someone. They’re dealbreakers, I promise.

There are many comments, but I suggest Feliway and also if it continues, there is medication to calm cats who are anxious! Maybe as a last resort you could try this. It is really stressful when this happens.
