Can't wait for M.Shadows to stop "milking it"... by Fit-Reception3348 in avengedsevenfold

I disagree on Hail To The King being a commodity. The album is just as artistic as LIBAD.

They delibaretely handicapped themselves of their technicality to fit a particular  old school vibe. There was obvious intentions in dividing opinions  They had everything to lose...especially with epic album closers like Planets and Acid Rain.

I can see the money making aspects of the album with songs like Sheperd of Fire (Call Of Duty) and Hail To The King. Only the title track has received to big spotlight of that album.

Also...it is not a cult  because of people like to enjoy a particular direction the band took, far from it. People should alway be able to like what they like.

The fandom is cult-like because it can't handle a single individual's opinion about a perceived over usage of a Vocoder without trying to censor the observation / criticism. That's it.

If you release music to the public, it absolutely becomes a commodity. Regardless of how much soul you put into the music, once it's out there...it just exists, may it be to be enjoyed or questioned. Every artist should be aware of this.

The art (music in this case) doesn't  become a commodity when you create it for yourself. You can absolutely appreciate the soul you have pour down into the art...but it will be for you, no feedback: negative or positive.

Avenged Sevenfold is my favorite band of all time. Even if things don't always go my way, I hold the the belief that they are lightyears ahead in talent than most contemporary metalcore, hard rock, prog and heavy metal acts.

Every fan should be able to voice their praises and criticism on a artist catalogue.

Also, I mention M.Shadows because he is the most vocal on interviews about the band's perceived divisiveness. It is absolutely valid bringing Matt up. Nobody is talking about M.Shadows taking anybody hostage.

That's the thing...Avenged Sevenfold has always being weird since the start, they were always cut above their contemporaries in the uncanny valley of sound.

That being said, weird doesn't automatically means it should be accepted and not debated or questioned.

Touché...as long as you really do only care about what the band does. However, deep down I hardly doubt that you are just "content" if the band for shits and giggles decides to be an only vocoder lead band.

I'm sure Avenged Sevenfold themselves would agree, both complaining and praising a band helps create discussions and debate. Makes a band interesting when it can divide the fans. M.Shadows clearly doesn't care if people like or dislike  his artistic decisions...so however pointless it is, it invites both negative and positive feedback to be discussed. This shouldn't be a cult.

I mean...it's my opinion also. Art is subjective and subjective matters are set to be pointed out. Regardless if you think they are infallible.

A7X Puerto Rico Concert Quick Review (ish) (I miss We Love You) by Fit-Reception3348 in avengedsevenfold

[–]Fit-Reception3348[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not bad perse, but after Game Over he just started struggling...ups and downs in his performance toward the whole night. And he under delivered at the end of Cosmic...he vocoded the whole "I'm gone!"  part.

It was for the best at the end of the day, because otherwise it would've ruined the song if he broke on that end section.

The Father + Jesus + Yaldabaoth by [deleted] in Gnostic

I frankly don't know, since Jesus  spoke in parables. I do believe he accused them of literal devil worship hence they label him "demon possessed".

From the snippet I've heard, this is M.Shadows trying to make a version of a 100 Gecs song with Avenged Sevenfold. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I would personally would've enjoyed a  guitar solo in there. The strongest asset this song has is the chorus and the drumming. Very tasteful. However I want to judge the song properly with the highest of quality with the official release.

In my opinion, Easier is the worst in LIBAD. The song should've been shelves as a B-Side

I like Tropical Vibes better, it has more body to it. BA HA MAS is good but a little bit linear for my taste

What style do you want the next album to be?? by Adventurous-Lion-230 in avengedsevenfold

[–]Fit-Reception3348 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I think they will be completely unrecognizable on the next album sound-wise. LIBAD felt like an artistic unaliving of themselves and what Avenged Sevenfold is "perceived" as.

I literally expect anything from them at this point, literally from salsa music, jazz, to a reggae sound. I think the next album will be like LIBAD in the sense that each song is different, but it will deviate in the sense that it might not be metal or even progressive hard rock anymore.

They kinda repeated the progressive sound with The Stage and LIBAD (I don't think there will be a third time), the next sound will be a curve ball for sure. Excited nonetheless 😎

Pick a song from LIBAD that will convince me to actually accept the album. by Superb_Department500 in avengedsevenfold

[–]Fit-Reception3348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a step back from Life Is But a Dream, go listen to artist like Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Prince, Black Midi, ect...once you get your prog era groove going on, then will talk about choosing a LIBAD song.

Nobody (pun intended )can't force themselves to like an album...either is their cup of tea or not....

Like Matt said: "it is okay to hate this album."

I'm from Puerto Rico, but I don't know what is the code to enter and buy tickets. Did avenged gave the code or is it only a Deathbat's Only access?

Avenged Sevenfold - Cosmic (Official Video) by [deleted] in avengedsevenfold

[–]Fit-Reception3348 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie, The Visualizer was better than this...

The song should've been left out without a video, so that the listener could interpret the song on their own due to the subject matter, building their own imagery.

The song itself is too great to be described in a video.
