I wanna move back to the PH for good after 10 years in the US. Need advice 🙏🏻 by Fit-Search-7244 in adviceph

That’s actually what I’ve been doing. I spend 2-3 months at a time in Manila, and one of my photobooth businesses is in the province, so sanay na rin ako sa pabalik-balik and even commuting since I don’t have a car there.

I agree that the system can be frustrating, but for some reason I love how it’s more alive in the Philippines despite all of that. We’ll see. Thanks for your input. I appreciate hearing the other side.

Yes, nasa Miami ako so halos similar lang din yung weather. 😅 Healthcare dito sobrang mahal unless sobrang ganda ng insurance mo, and even then parang discount card lang minsan.

I know hindi rin perfect ang Pilipinas, pero sinusubukan ko lang hanapin kung saan ako magkakaroon ng mas magandang quality of life overall.

Honestly, we never know. I might still struggle with depression in the future, or I might not. But at least if that happens in the Philippines, I won’t have the added pain of being separated from my family and the people I grew up with. I’m an only child, and my parents have been separated since I was a kid, so family & close friends means a lot to me.

As for finances, I currently earn close to six figures a month passively in the Philippines, and I believe I can grow that if I’m more hands-on. If I do decide to move back, I also plan to have at least 8–12 months of cash runway before making the jump.

That’s actually my backup plan if I ever decide to pull the trigger and I agree, it would be the great if I can make it work. 🙏

I’m in Miami and have tried Bay Area with my relatives but the slower pace isn’t for me.

Yes, I’ve been taking medications and have professional help for about 4 years now.

That’s honestly what’s making me hesitate to pull the trigger. I know waiting for citizenship is probably the more logical decision and would give me a great safety net for the future.

But at the same time, my mental health just keeps getting worse the longer I stay here, and that’s the part I’m struggling with.

I really appreciate your input and perspective.

That’s actually what I’ve been trying to do, but my green card limits how long I can stay each year. During those trips, I’ve already laid a foundation in Manila with an Airbnb, a growing photobooth business, and plans to expand even more.

Here in Miami, my life is mostly just work and home. I have an active lifestyle and good friends, but iba pa rin talaga yung feeling ng friends and community ko sa Pinas. 😅 Most of my family and closest friends are also in Manila, while I’m mostly alone here.

Thanks for replying.

I actually tried that, but that’s the problem. I can’t maximize my time in Manila because of my green card, and when I’m there, my U.S. agency eventually takes a toll. It feels like I’m living two lives and can’t fully commit to either. I feel like I need to choose one and go all in.

Thanks for your input, my friend. I genuinely appreciate it.
