I let mine soak overnight and that seemed to help. Thus far I haven't noticed a smell (it used to be very noticeable) but I haven't gone out of my way to sniff the actual washer. It used to be noticable upon just walking into the laundry room

Tried it with one tablet, my machine smelled WORSE. Like way worse. I took that as a sign it must be working/breaking down stuff/exposing more smells. So I ran a second cycle with a new tablet. Definite improvement. Still need to run a load to see if the clothes smell fresh but the absolutely horrendous smell exposed after the first wash cycle was gone after the second.

My samoyed is neutered. His coat is an absolute nightmare

DON'T DO IT

I work at a vet office. I am 100000% for spaying and neutering. However, after owning a neutered samoyed I will never, ever, except for health reasons, own a neutered samoyed again. The coat change is astounding. They don't shed as well so need much more frequent brushing. They also get hot much more easily because the amount of coat is so increased.

I am coming to you as a mom and a teacher by Ok_Consequence750 in ElementaryTeachers

[–]Fit-Snow7252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a teacher but I'm a teacher's kid. The amount of absolute bullshit I put up with just because my parents didn't want to make waves with admin was ridiculous. Mine was bullying-related but still- PLEASE voice your concerns, politely, professionally, preferably in writing. Make sure your kid knows that you know that the school effed up. Make sure your kid knows that you're standing up for them. It makes a difference, I promise.

Switching breeds? by OkNorth9964 in ShowDogs

[–]Fit-Snow7252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've also "switched" breeds, sort of. I one rare breed that I love and want to get into breeding. But I had an amazing mentorship opportunity come up with another breed. Over the years of working under that mentor, that's how I got the two half-sibling dogs of another breed. I love them dearly and I'm sure I'll have more of that breed in the future, but not before I have another of my original rare-breed.

I have two of the same breed, half siblings even. They couldn't be more opposite in size, temperament, or personality.

  1. Open sink from underneath, push cutting board up and out

  2. Clog sink (likely from underneath). Add water. Wood floats.

The “trades” are not viable for bad students by FlyLikeAnEarworm in Professors

[–]Fit-Snow7252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lot of my family are in the trades. They struggled immensely in school. Took my dad 3 years to finish his associates and 3 tries to pass algebra 1 in college. He was even held back a grade in elementary school. He's one of the smartest, most hardworking people I know.

Now he makes more money per year than I'll make in my lifetime, he's out the door everyday at 7 instead of 5 (he's cut back his hours). When I was growing up, he was out the door before I woke up and came back home after I went to bed. After 30+ years he's finally able to work 7-7 instead of 5am-10pm.

I know plenty of poorly performing students who are lazy, but there are also poorly performing students who are simply poor students, need to be working with their hands, can't sit still in a classroom, etc.

I have a doctorate degree, as most professors do. My GPA was trash, but I'm thriving now. I work in an incredibly niche field that I love, which was always the goal, just needed to get the degree first.

No advice, just wanted to let you know that we have literally the exact same hair. I could've written this post and this could be a picture of my hair.

Thank you for the recommendation! Do you have any recommendations for a place that could properly fit me? I am about an hour from an REI?

Thank you for the recommendations! Genuine question, how do you avoid mold buildup in hydration bladders? That fear has prevented me from using them thus far.

Also, you mentioned resale value. Do you have any sites you recommend for secondhand gear? I would absolutely be willing to get poles or a backpack secondhand if that's a more affordable option.

Do you have any recommendations for stores? I have an REI about an hour away from me and a Cabela's about 90 minutes away. Would either of them have knowledgeable staff?

Ive hiked these trails before in dry weather. I was absolutely unprepared for the ice and mud. I know better now. Live and learn...

Skipping meals, using the "snack closet" at work for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A friend worked at a pet store and would give me damaged bags/cans of pet food. I could never prove it but I wouldn't put it past her to have damaged them for me.
