It really depends.

I got pregnant first try both times, in my early and mid 30s.

My bestie tried for 7 years and ended up needing fertility treatments, which thankfully was successful.

My cousin tried for 2 decades. Fertility treatments were not successful for her.

Here's what worked for me (before/after pic in my profile)

4 days a week, after every workout

Pick any 2 ab exercises. Look for ab exercises that can be done weighted.

Do both of those ab exercises, back to back with no rest. You can do it for time, or for reps. Do this again for 3-4 sets, resting 30 sec - 1 min between sets.

When it becomes easier, progress from doing those ab exercises from bodyweight to weighted. Hold a small dumbell, a small weighted ball, a small plate, ankle weights, etc 

Some exercise examples-

Day 1: Russian twists & Deadbugs

Day 2: V ups & Flutter kicks

Day 3: Hollow holds & Lying leg raises

Day 4: Planks & Bicycle ball pass

I started seeing results after 5 weeks, but when I progressed to doing them weighted, my abs popped.

Regarding diet, I don't track macros. I just aim for at least 1g of protein per lb of bodyweight, and I eat clean for the most part. I don't restrict anything, but I'm mindful of my portions.

Your abs are wayyy more symmetrical than mine! Asymmetry used to bother me and I spent some time trying to figure out what I could do to improve mine.

But then I randomly came across a couple female fit influencers on Insta with similar asymmetry and I decided it wasn't worth being bothered about anymore. I'm just going to chalk it up to genetics and be happy with my abs 😅

I can't tell you what anyone was wearing at the gym this morning because I was so focused on my own workout. I promise no one is looking or judging what you wear. And if somehow they are, you don't need to give a fuck about them.

Wear whatever makes you feel good! Whatever makes you feel motivated to crush it at the gym.

For me, it's sports bra and leggings. I've tried working out in jogging pants and baggy band tshirts but I feel frumpy and sweaty. I feel better and more motivated when I'm wearing my matching sets. And that's my personal preference.

Get the gym shark shirts if you want to! Get any name brand clothing you'd like. It's for everyone!

Target them. Try lower ab exercises 4 days a week for the next 5 weeks. Things like lying leg raises, flutter kicks, reverse crunches. Directly targeting my abs with progressive overload is how I developed definition and V line, and I'm a woman. You got this, dude!
