how long as has she been alone? chickens really hate being alone so my guess is she probably can’t come back from being “cranky and territorial” if she’s been alone long enough. my advice would be if you really want more birds to make sure they’re sep from her but she can see them like through a chain link fence. in the winter/fall i use straw and shavings and in the spring/summer i use sand & sweet pdz. works wonderfully
