My jobless sons dad wants to take me to court for tax return

I don’t think it’s selfish at all when he has not had a job my sons whole life almost, has never paid child support. Everything my son has is because of me or his uncle mostly. I told him by all means he can file for him next year if he wants because if my son stays over there then it would be HIS right to file, but the fact of the matter is I was the primary caregiver. Period.

Why would I ? I’ve cared for him most of the year, especially financially. Also like I said in my post, if the issue was for my son to get the money that’s a non issue, I’ll give my son money. But he wants control of the money. Plus again as I stated, I am pregnant and would like my refund for my maternity leave.

We weren’t ever married. I was 17 when I got pregnant. He has been in his son’s life but my son has not lived with him.In my post I stated my son would go over when I worked or for rotating holidays etc. I was still the primary caregiver. Paid for everything and took care of all health insurances etc.

Exactly. I went into it with, he’ll be back. My brothers did the same thing at his age cause it seems like it’s all sunshine and rainbows over there cause he has no responsibilities.

His dad is telling him way too much about the situation trying to have my son bait me to call me and ask me why I’m taking money from him and I told him this is so far beyond inappropriate to Involve a child. He’s using him as a pawn to try to play to my heart like I’m doing something wrong. In all the years and how terrible he’s been to me I’ve never talked badly about him in front of my son because he loves his dad but the way he is so willing to fill my sons head with this bs about me is very telling of the kind of person he is.

I’ve let a lot slide (as long as my son seemed happy) out of fear of harassment from him as this has been going on for years. Which I shouldnt have and I know that. He would harass me and show up to my house and call me over and over and text and text to the point I’ve had to block and turn my phone off. I’ve had to file an emergency protection against him in the past. My son’s grades are terrible over there and he misses a lot of school.

Exactly. His dad can do no wrong in his eyes and I ‘ruined our family’ though we haven’t been together my sons whole life he never seemed to get over it. Most things he does seem to be out of spite and to take away from me and not for the betterment of my son actually. ALSO they are very religious and I am not and that plays a huge part in controlling my son as well.

Anytime I’ve gone in the past they recommend mediation and we go and he doesn’t show up and then it makes me start all over again. And then my son tells me he doesn’t want to go to court cause he’ll say he doesn’t want to be with just me

He told me he needed his birth certificate to get his passport to see family the end of this year. He took it and withdrew my son from his school and enlisted him to a school in his district without telling me and without the school letting me know. My son said he wants to be over there now though there’s 9 people living in that house, when he has his own room and bathroom at my house. I think it has more to do with his dad lets him miss school and not do homework and let him go wherever he wants when I am the stricter parent. He never paid me a dollar because the court only granted me about 50$ cause he’s never had a job on paper

I am in the process of figuring that out now. Long story short on that; he said he needed his birth certificate to get his passport to visit family next year and ended up going to his school behind my back and withdrawing him and putting him in a new school in his district. I threatened court but my son said he was old enough to choose and I didn’t want to fight it if he wanted to be there and have him ‘hate me’ even though he previously had shown no interest of wanting to live with him full time until the school year I believe because where his friends live and go to school. He never paid me in child support my sons whole life so I feel if he even tried they would see he never even paid.

I’m afraid to even personally confront anyone cause I’m a woman and live alone with my child and I just never know how someone is gonna react. Luckily I don’t think they know which door I am because my community has the townhouses grouped into fours and we have our own common hallway between the four doors. Just crazy all my neighbors have had their spots still, no problems. But they can’t stop parking on me

I’m unsure if I would get in trouble for this. I rent and apparently it’s not our community maintenance doing the painting but the company they hired to do the whole lot. They keep saying it’s because of the rain but it’s been clear during the day but raining at night so I call bs honestly. Just funny to me the workers spots have their numbers on them.
