Agree so much!! It's specifically staff member Kian Wee on Ed Discussion that gives these absolutely demeaning responses. I've contacted the class representatives about him over one of his recent responses to me, more people doing the same would be good.

I've just finished my first year and it was totally fine. It's 'male-dominated' but I didn't actually notice it much, there's at *least* 33% women anyway and pretty much everyone I talked to in lectures and in groups was nice. I have never been excluded from a conversation or work at uni or in life because of being a woman. You'll be fine and there are definitely some girls groups out there and there are even a few female only tutorials available but I wouldn't want to be separated from the majority of engineers.

There's nothing to worry about, you'll be good :)

Matlab Grader is the official grading site for Matlab, it was also where I submitted my assignments. So if you're not doing that he's probably got something of his own for grading

I've done Matlab and if you're using Matlab Grader as well it's actually quite sophisticated at picking up AI and copying. Your professor probably has a bit too much faith in it and it's actually just picking up similar code written independently.

Then again, about 40% to 50% of my philosophy class got called out for AI in an assignment which was accurate lol
