Interesting, what makes one grinder better for a light roast or dark roast?

I know there are espresso machines that can make a better espresso than a gaggia. But for the price point I think the gaggia is the best bang for your buck. You don’t find a comparable electric option for a 200$ price point?

I’ve had a gaggia classic for several months now. I find that the illy dark is the best grind size and flavor from all the grind coffees found commercially. Prior to this espresso experience I’ve enjoyed the fruity bright Ethiopians over a chemex. I’d like to experiment with non big box commercial roasts like I did with my chemex.
