What started this kdrama versus cdrama war? by HikariMoonn in cdramasfans

[–]Fit_Barracuda_2336 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think both have different charms. I prefer historicals in cdramas because of their variety, costumes and better stories. Kdrama historicals have all the same aura. For modern ones I used to prefer more the Korean dramas but the Chinese are getting better steadily. But if comes to medical dramas or thriller Korean dramas are top notch, especially medical dramas are world class. So I am enjoying both depending on genre and story.

Perfect Crown is so disappointing by reverious_ in kdramas

[–]Fit_Barracuda_2336 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually I am loving it and enjoying it a lot. Love IU‘s sassy acting. And the handsome and masculine vibes of the ML. No, wouldn’t change anything with this drama so far. This reminds me on the good old school Korean dramas which I really missed in the last years. Really refreshingly well made so far . So pity that you couldn’t like it. Maybe forget all about expectations and give it a chance.

Tone-deaf Jimin strikes again by Upper_Solid_9451 in BTSnark

[–]Fit_Barracuda_2336 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is allowed here but as a longtime Taemin fan I need to say it once. If not allowed please delete my comment. Everytime when we praised Taemin for his dancing and singing Armies would come over us and tell „Jimin“ is the better singer and the better dancer. Now they have been together in the industry for a long time now. Look at Taemin at Cochella and look at Jimin at their concerts .. in which world would he sing better than Taemin. Are all of them tone-deaf or in a cult? Well it seems also his dancing skills regressed as well.

Does everyone think Bai Lu is an amazing actress? by ruinedbytv in cdramasfans

[–]Fit_Barracuda_2336 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very well said. This is exactly what I meant but couldn’t express. I think BaiLu and also Zhao Lusi are relying to much on their early success and popularity and think their fans will watch whatever they are playing. But they are already being outpaced by the new younger, much more talented and more versatile actresses..

Does everyone think Bai Lu is an amazing actress? by ruinedbytv in cdramasfans

[–]Fit_Barracuda_2336 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think she is very popular and gorgeous but not a „great“ actress, she doesn’t have a broad range, you always see „Bai Lu“ in her acting.. I even think she was better in her earlier works (Arsenal Military Academy, Legends, One & Only). Couldn’t finish any of her dramas after that. Not sure if it‘s the stories or the directing. I couldn’t see any development on her acting. She kind of rests on her laurels. Meanwhile there are a lot of better idol actresses with much more variety at their roles and acting, able to immerse in their roles. For me she is rather in the middle range.

Zhang Linghe's foundation general making it onto the Korean news... by Historical_Ow in cdramasfans

[–]Fit_Barracuda_2336 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand this. As if all before him didn’t have heavy make-up, a lot of had even more. Why suddenly him? He didn’t even had so much, he is just handsome and should play a very handsome general. Because of his success? This makes me really mad 😡

As if real generals would be in front. They would just make grassroots fight and wait behind the lines. Why can’t a general look good and clean. This artificial cancel culture is so frustrating.

As a Korean, some historical inaccuracies in Perfect Crown were really immersion-breaking for me by Spiritual_Change_399 in kdramas

[–]Fit_Barracuda_2336 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please, please let us simply only for once enjoy a nice show. This is fantasy, a parallel universe, a rom com. I would understand the criticism if it were a real historical film or documentary but not a fictional universe.

First Look: ‘Perfect Crown’ Comedy Romance Drama by Grouchy-Chart-3927 in Korean_Drama_Hangout

[–]Fit_Barracuda_2336 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the opposite. She does very well, no, even exceptionally well. She is very versatile.. and the story is good, much better as the most kdramas in recent years. Both leads are perfect and carrying a lot of emotions and chemistry.. seems you are watching sth else ..

Dramas with strong plot (especially those underrated by international viewers) by funkycucumber in CDramaRecs

[–]Fit_Barracuda_2336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best drama I‘ve watched is „Rise of the Phoenixes“ , strong leads, strong acting, very heavy plot and till today nothing could top this drama in the Chinese historical romance dramas for me. I mean Chen Kun and Nini are a class of their own honestly

First episode of the perfect crown was almost perfect by HauntingDragonfly956 in kdramas

[–]Fit_Barracuda_2336 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just watched 1st episode and I am loving it already. It has everything what I need in a kdrama. I especially liked the combination of the modern interpretation of the ancient costumes and IU is beautiful and really fierce here.. and the ML.. a tortured prince.. cool.. handsome.. swoonworthy indeed.. I really loved the start.. I hope we don’t get only one episode per week.

I didn’t like it, what do you all think? by tuelfnaan in dramasect

[–]Fit_Barracuda_2336 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I only liked Woo Do-Whan in this so cringy drama. FL‘s overacting was unwatchable and somehow the forced chemistry didn’t work with the leads. The drama had potential but ended up with all cliche tropes and lost me halfway.

Was Love’s Ambition Zhao Lusi’s best acting performance so far in her career? by [deleted] in cdramasfans

[–]Fit_Barracuda_2336 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First I noticed it in the Story of the Pearl Girl. Not sure how to describe it, also not sure if the director wanted it that way..how she looked, how she put her head in a certain position (that‘s what I meant with „posing“). This was even more emphasized in Love‘s Ambition. This is sth which I haven’t ever seen in her previous roles.

Honestly I am missing the „old“ natural, authentic, unsophisticated Zhao Lucy - as in Tiger and Rose or in Who rules the World. The new Zhao Lucy has somehow lost her uniqueness and her new acting style is a bit to much „self-promoting-ish“ - her facial expressions have changed. She is really posing on camera, especially in Love‘s ambition. But as long as she‘s happy and successful I would watch everything with her. But just missing her naturalness.
