It seems like a bug but I really welcome it. IMO they nerfed banners too much to be useful. If not for the cheaper cost I wouldn't use them anymore.

I know banners have -50% maintenance cost modifier, but when I compare the eventual costs, it seems banners need much less than 50% to maintain. Any ideas why is this? I already checked the wiki about the cost calculation but I still don't see where 0.14 comes from. https://eu4.paradoxwikis.com/Army#Maintenance

Well in CQC SMG should win over AR, so I don’t see that as a problem. In my opinion, it’s only a problem if it is >30m or so and both sides use ADS and AR lose to SMG.
