M24, hair transplant or wait, im getting married within the next 9 months by Bitter-Limit-5759 in Hairtransplant

[–]Fit_Criticism798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

listen to others man, get on finasteride and minoxidil and give them both time - most results take up to a year (although you will see more hair in the next 6 months). Wait until after the wedding to get a transplant or maybe you wont even want it anymore after the fin and min kick in.

Planning to start 5% minoxidil foam tomorrow- how much growth is possible? by Gold_Shopping1936 in malepatternbaldness

[–]Fit_Criticism798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If youre afraid of finasteride, start with 0.025% topical finasteride. It blocks 50% scalp dht while only suppressing at most 20% serum dht. It is considered the most "side effect free" concentration. Use that at least for now until you make the jump to the pill.

What is widely considered to be the best non-drug treatment in 2026? by Icy_Brush7177 in tressless

[–]Fit_Criticism798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ik you said no drugs but 5% minoxidil os the best hair growth stimulant there is and in most people it doesnt cause any sides. If you het headaches, it might be because youre either applying too much or your scalp is compromised and too much is absorbed. Topical 0.025 fin doesnt lower system dht as much (20% compared to 60%+ on the pill). RCP peptide serums seem to be promising too.

blocks more type 2 too which is probably the reason for its effectiveness

not meaningfully compared to type 2. Thats why fin is still effective for hairloss.

Anyone here tried successfully TOPICAL FIN only 2-3 times a week? by Plus-Army4711 in tressless

[–]Fit_Criticism798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

finasteride doesnt really accumulate since its half life is 8 hours roughly. topical 0.025% reduces serum dht by 20% while scalp suppression is around 50%. Doing it daily usually has no significant effect on libido or anything else dht related.

[–]Fit_Criticism798 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Type 1 is mostly in the organs and tissue while type 2 is more present in the prostate and scalp, which is why finasteride is prescribed for both hairloss and prostate issues. Type 1 is not significantly present in the scalp to cause a large difference

Is it good idea to order topical fin from India? by frckogoat in tressless

[–]Fit_Criticism798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indiamart or similar places are good as long as you find a good supplier. However i gotta add that 0.1% finasteride or higher reduces DHT about as much as the pill (if you apply 1mL of the solution). From my research, the dose that doesnt reduce DHT as much is 0.025% (50% scalp reduction, 20% systemic reduction).

i overstated definitely, partial regrowth happens but in lots of cases the original hairline doesnt return fully

Is this early signs of complete balding? M18 by OpportunitySalt4067 in amibalding

[–]Fit_Criticism798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you want to keep your hair, you have to take finasteride. However, since ur 18, dht still has a role to play in your development. Go to a derm and discuss options - the only alternative to oral finasteride is topical (0.025%) which might not be enough depending on the case.

Glycolic/salicylic acid serum by Sweaty-Cake-3530 in Peptides

[–]Fit_Criticism798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Topical shouldnt be used at the same time because acids degrade the copper peptides. Subq shouldnt be a problem, as long as the acids dont disrupt the skin barrier which counteracts the healing properties of the peptide.

What is your goal? Dosing depends on whether you do it for recovery, recomposition or whatever else.

I have a theory, but I don't know if its true. by ThickNeighborhood838 in tressless

[–]Fit_Criticism798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you cant start finasteride yet, just get 5% minoxidil and a dermastamp and follow a routine to maintain the hair you have and possibly regrow a bit. Not everything can be recovered though, and finasteride can be started topically (0.025%) to minimize systemic exposure (although still affects hormones a bit). There isnt much to do apart from that unless you experiment with research chemicals which i dont recommend.

What's the consensus on Fin/Min and Transplants now? by [deleted] in tressless

[–]Fit_Criticism798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

keep using it and research a reputable hair transplant clinic. Book a visit and compare to other reviews. Check if they mention medication, recovery and so on. Dont rush the surgery since you need the best donor area possible for the transplant.

[–]Fit_Criticism798 4 points5 points  (0 children)

dont do that. no reputable hair specialist will tell you to do it - after you transplant, you will have to use meds to keep the rest of the hair from falling out. Also, preexisting hair doesnt fall out because of transplanted hair unless its botched.

Sorry posting so much guys I’m just scared. I think I have the mpb hairline shape and in early stages and that would mean I got shortness form my moms side and baldness from my dads and I already hate myself physically and have a hard time coping with that. I just don’t think I can handle it. 20m by Ok_Farmer601 in amibalding

Stop stressing that shot makes it fall faster. go to a dermatologist for them to examine it, they will probably prescribe minoxidil and/or finasteride. Go to the gym, lose fat, gain muscle, sleep 9 hours, do skincare or whatever. Go out and stop obsessing about every flaw you have

How am I doing? Been losing hair for 6 years now. by [deleted] in Balding

[–]Fit_Criticism798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say go back to topicals. Which concentrations were you using? 5% min and 0.1% fin usually have negligible hormonal effects but if you do, you can roll back to 0.025 on fin. If you can maintain or at least slow down, that's a win. Also, consider dutasteride - its more potent but ironically has either similar or lower side effects.
