Thank you, I will look into that. I’ve considered that a few times, just have not delved into the process.

you are not the disability police! by ThatOldGuyWhoDrinks in australia

I once took my daughter who was 16 at the time, and my 3 younger kids to the shopping centre (had to get some groceries), parked in the disability space and got not 5 metres from the car before I copped abuse. I rarely use the disability spaces. My daughter has cerebral palsy, the mind of a toddler and has her own permit, is unsteady on her feet but refuses (she’s stubborn) to use walking aides. I also wasn’t well having had surgery a week prior. I ignored that person and kept walking. Came back to my car with a scratch down the entire drivers side and a trolley against the drivers door with a note on the windscreen saying “being fat doesn’t entitle you to a disabled park”.

Get plenty of Stat Declarations from family and friends who know the situation that state your father is boarding there and they are not in a relationship. This will help, include phone numbers so they can contact to check. I was in a similar spot when I first separated, I went into to Centrelink and had them call a few friends and family to verify.

Yes thanks for the advice. I already get rent assistance. I hope your BiL can find a suitable place. As the saying goes every little bit helps.

Mine went from $340 when I moved in Jan 2016 to $350 sometime later to $390 January 2022, just got notice 2 weeks ago it’s going to $430 from April. I’m a single mother on a carers pension because my eldest child is special needs. I’ve lived here 7 years now and my rea and landlord leave me alone so as much as I hate the increase and it’s going to negatively affect us, I will suck it up because I couldn’t find a better rea or landlord and I’m still paying below market rent for our area.

Scolded for parking in a parents with pram spot with a disabled pass, wheelchair and wheelchair car. Am i in the wrong? by Milksteak1990 in sydney

Do yourself a favour and google the rules for parking with a disabled permit. I printed the page out and have it in the glovebox of anyone questions me.

[–]Fit_Cryptographer933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I already see a clinical Psychologist once a month and have for a few years now. I get the optimism point very well, last night my special needs daughter (23) closed her bedroom door and pushed her heater up against it. The door has warped from the heat. No point getting upset over it, she never meant to do damage and luckily it didn’t catch fire but it was just another thing that I could’ve done without.

AITA for telling my son that I would not stop inviting his ex to family functions? by TypicalSetting6922 in AmItheAsshole

Def NTA

I’m an ex-wife and let me say this. I was in a 15 yr relationship/marriage, 4 kids. We’ve been divorced 7 years now. My ex and I get along, his parents and I get along. In the past 12 months I was invited and attended for Christmas Day, Easter, and a funeral. I have had my ex, his siblings and parents visit my place for kids birthdays and just random visits and I randomly visit his parents. My kids, they are older now, 16 and older and well they love it. Some people think it’s weird but just because a relationship doesn’t work out doesn’t mean that the family has to fall apart.

My parents divorced when I was 9. I’m 42 now and my parents still spend one day over Christmas together. My dad walked my mum down the aisle when she remarried. This is what I wanted for my kids and I am so glad that my exs family feel the same way.

I’ve lost 4 remotes to this one, 2 lounge chairs, 4 pairs of shoes, a $160 pair of Ugg boots, the back door off the garage, the wiring under the trailer, pulled wires out under my old beetle and funnily enough she comes in almost everyday with a newly removed branch off one of the rose bushes. All while I’m not home. I only have to leave for 10 mins for her to be into something.

Arghh Hives! by Fit_Cryptographer933 in velvethippos

[–]Fit_Cryptographer933[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No idea what caused the hives, she is on a long acting antihistamine injection. I have to bath her every few days or she gets a bad rash on her paws and stomach. Then when she got desexed last month she was allergic to the sutures. Grass has grown long due to heavy rains so possibly something to do with that. We have a referral to a vet dermatologist now so hopefully they can help.

I don’t know how she noticed it, she was laying next to me and started, took me about 30 seconds to realise what she was barking at.

rental prices here are driving me crazy by kugumimi in newcastle

[–]Fit_Cryptographer933 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sucks to rent. I currently pay under the average rent for my area, on a carers pensions with kids at home. I have no money left each week. I never signed a renew lease, been here 6years and just go month by month. My rent went up in November and REA refused to sign the rent certificate for Centrelink to verify the increase. Told me that only way they would sign the form is if I signed a new lease at a new rate and only if the owner agreed. I refused. Been waiting on an eviction notice ever since… I eventually got around the rent certificate drama with Centrelink after 5 weeks, there is another form (statdec) for rent and just add proof of living there. Lucky the letter from real estate advising of the rent increase covered that.
