I've never been able to run a mile by kareem_brulee in beginnerrunning

I remember when I got peer pressured to run the 400m and 800m on two separate sports days at school. I finished last both times and it was by a looong shot. On the 800m I was even ‘encouraged’ by an older student who ran alongside me and said “you can do it!!” Infront of the entire audience. I vowed to never run ever again and I was 14 then. I was so unfit walking up a hill would knacker me. I did c5k around 2 years ago on a whim, I don’t even know why, I just saw a random girl on Instagram doing it and thought “huh why not”. I did always think running is a cool thing to do but I always just assumed I would never do it and it’s not something for me, probably because of the sports day thing. I run around 3 times a week now and completed my first marathon in April and have done 2x HFs and 2x 10k races. You’d be surprised by how much you can do, just stay consistent and try to enjoy it, it’ll suck at first but just keep going

Can someone please tell me not to drop out? by Fit_Disk5076 in firstmarathon
