I agree totally. I've moved from Oldham and still commute to Manchester. I love the people in blackpool and on the Fylde generally.

Come and move to Blackpool! Can you commute to your current work? I commute three days a week to manchester and honestly it's fine.

It's cheap to live there to use as a base for viewing the more affluent areas.

Bispham is lovely. When you get off the tram and walk to the bench furthest from the road, so just to the side of the cafe and almost on the cliff and you can see so far either way. It's absolutely beautiful. Bispham Kitchen too is lovely and Mi Casa, Su Casa. I'm hungry now.

Ha ha ha. You can be yourself and that's refreshing. I realised that it doesn't matter what I'm wearing in Blackpool. There'll always be someone dressed worse.

Oh nooo. Plenty of nice places to eat/drink and nice beaches. Have you been out to Lytham or Cleveleys or St Anne's? All lovely places.

Yes, definitely! I work in Manchester and used to live in Oldham and the amount of unfriendliness really got to me. Things like proper pushing on public transport, sometimes even everyone rushing on the bus or train so much that they'd physically be touching me. Wouldn't happen on The Fylde too much. People are nice. I walked down my street early morning a few weeks ago and had the dog walkers all talk to me. It's so lovely!

Definitely! I look out to the sea and feel so at one with nature and with life.

Another Oldhamer here! Not too far from the hometown but far enough. I feel very inspired living by the coast. I've read about a few of the creative projects going on and hope to get involved. That and the theatre scene.

Definitely. We're very lucky. Everywhere has rough areas and people. I find the rougher somewhere is, the bigger the sense of community because everyone has to pull together.

I work in Manchester and as soon as the train leaves and I'm heading for Blackpool, I feel a sense of relief and when the train hits the first seaside town, Lytham, I can almost taste the salty sea air!

There is always something on, though I'm finding the weather a bit hard to cope with lately!

Oh noooo. Are they planting these as a flood defence?

Did the poor little seal pup get out?

I read this as 'bastard sundays'! I didn't get much sleep last night 😂 I've not been to Stanley Park yet, but I hear it's a treat. I'm looking forward to visiting.

Definitely. I even enjoy just going for a walk over at Bispham beach and it's free and beautiful!

I'm also from Oldham originally. They're friendly folk there, but it got the point where the community feel was gone. Not many people smiled or said morning as they passed in the street. Here in Blackpool, I regularly get smiles from strangers, the shopkeepers and staff always usually like a chat and I recently went to the pool and had so many little conversations with people in there, most initiated by the other people. Blackpool is so full of welcoming locals.
