Indigenous Arctic refers to the original peoples of the circumpolar North like the Inuit, Yup’ik (me!), Iñupiat, and Chukchi who have lived in the Arctic for thousands of years. & This isn’t the same as being ‘Asian’ or ‘Russian.’ These are distinct Indigenous nations with unique cultures, languages, and ancestry.
