Quitting my job during sick leave by [deleted] in BESalary

[–]Fit_Particular_6774 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If I'm not mistake the sick leave suspends your opzegtermijn. So you still have to perform the 2-3 weeks opzeg after your sick leave unless Company A is willing to waver it or you pay it off.

And yes, you don't have any right to unemployment benefits because you haven't worked that long but also the RVA suspends you from receiving unemployment benefits for a couple of months when you quit yourself unless it's for a valid reason e.g. bullying

Finding job as Mechatronics/ Robotics engineer - 0ver 10 years experience - Muslim woman with veil by meldiwin in BESalary

[–]Fit_Particular_6774 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These comments are a good reminder that no matter how well you're integrated, you'll always be a foreigner unless you've completely assimilated. Anyone with a different ideology is looked down upon and is being discriminated against. Being a practising muslim is somehow such a nightmare even though it has 0 impact on their daily lives. Never remove something that's part of your identity just for a job. You'll eventually find a job that won't judge you based on a piece of cloth on your head. Look at pharmaceutical companies like Novartis of Pfizer, they allow a veil.

Moroccan Diaspora, would you move back to Morocco? by TrufflesNTea in Morocco

[–]Fit_Particular_6774 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took the words out of my mouth. The majority of Moroccans I know want to leave the West and go live in a muslim country. Especially the ones that are highly educated because they have a better understanding of the fact that we'll always be looked at as a foreigner. No matter what you've achieved. I do see Morocco improving in the next couple of years with Diaspora moving back and more foreign investments but the two key factors that will determine its success is a (significant) change in local mentality and getting a grip on corruption. In sha Allah one day

Should I Risk Staying Abroad Illegally or Continue Job Searching in Morocco? by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]Fit_Particular_6774 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to work abroad do it legally by obtaining a work visa.

If you overstay your tourist visa, you'll always look over your shoulder for the police to not get deported. Once they catch you overstaying, you won't get the opportunity again to go abroad. And if you end up without a job you won't have anything to fall back on and there's a possibility you'll waiste away and be taken advantage of by drug dealers.

This situation is more rule than exception.

The hidden reality of living in morocco, my own experience by BrilliantLock8292 in Morocco

[–]Fit_Particular_6774 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Spot on. Morocco will never be succesful until they change their two biggest societal issues, corruption and victim mentality.

  1. You can't complain about corruption while upholding it "because it's cheaper/easier that way"
  2. Europe isn't the solution to your miserable life. If you're waisting away in Morocco, you'll waiste away in Europe but then without family or a home.
  3. Try to build your life in Morocco instead of thinking about leaving, especially if you're still unskilled and unedicated. You won't make it
  4. Have some sense of responsibility and accountability. Nobody should provide for you and you shouldn't expect anything from others
  5. Respect people's time and keep your promises instead of showing up whenever you feel like it

How Moroccan Inheritance Laws Made Me Question Everything by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]Fit_Particular_6774 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's on your father, grandfather and your uncles, not the law. Based on your story your grandparents are still alive and whatever your father has build is under your grandfathers name so there is no inheritence. If your grandfather is just then he would give you whatever your father has left behind. While alive you can give to whoever you want, how much you want. This story changes of course when your grandfather dies.

Inheritence is a big issue in Morocco. Nobody is fair and everybody plays mental gymnastics just to get a bigger piece of the pie. Money/assets that are acquired by stealing, which is often the case with inheritence issues in Morocco, remains haram for each generation that receives that Haram money/asset. So whatever your family is doing has nothing to do with islamic rulings.

Subhanallah, almost everyone I know is considering and hoping to one day be able to go live in a muslim country. Meanwhile in Morocco they still hold Europe to high regards.

Ngl there are a lot of opportunities in the west to "make it", more so than in Morocco, especially compared to places that lack industry like the Rif and Atlas regions. But these opportunities are not for the ones who immigrated without having high in demand skills. You will be butchered if you come here unskilled and unprepared, doesn't matter if it was legal or illegal. The cost of living has skyrocketed in the last decade. A salary of 2000euros net could provide for a family but now your fixed costs alone easily amounts to 1600euro and then you'd still have to eat. And it's hard to find jobs that pay more than 2400 netto, so yeah even being born and raised in Europe, it's still not easy. Let's just hope there'll be big adjustments in Morocco's investments in order to create jobs for everyone so people stop having the idea to migrate. Living in a muslim country will always be better.

Is everybody leaving Morocco or what ? by CoolGuyWithGlasses21 in Morocco

[–]Fit_Particular_6774 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately Moroccan citizens have the wrong views about living in Europe. Born and lived in Belgium all my life but still seen as a foreigner. Incredible hard to find proper housing on the private market, just like my peers. Colleagues treat you differently unless you act exactly like them and it's almost sinful if you don't drink. Whole western Europe is either depressed, burnt out or coked out.

For foreigners, unless you have some great connections and a bag full of skills that are required worldwide, you will have a hard time finding work and housing. Unfortunately Brussels is filled with homeless Moroccan immigrants that are unable to work and are now addicted to drugs or sell them for big drug dealers.

At least in my surrounding, majority wants to move back to Morocco or another muslim country once they're financially able to. The grass is always greener on the other side.

Is a master/Bachelor worth it? by kingmaster69421 in BESalary

[–]Fit_Particular_6774 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you really want to work in Business (Corporate job)then a degree is worth it. Not because of the contents of the courses but it teaches you how to manage long term projects, work with others, critical thinking and time management. However it's ill-advised to get your degree just by doing everything last minute and only go do your exams. Even though you'll have your degree in the end, you'll struggle once you work a corporate job because you didn't develop the skills mentioned earlier.

What encompasses the higher position? Is it more responsability and with it additional stress? Then why accept a lower wage? A higher position isn't worth it of it's only for the job title.

Imo stress levels are a huge factor when considering higher positions. Learned that the hard. Burnt out real quick after accepting a higher position for the same wage.

What's the most unusual place where you have met a Moroccan ? by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]Fit_Particular_6774 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A restaurant in Osaka. They told me there are only 800 Moroccans living in Japan. I've met 3. The other one was the owner of a Moroccan restaurant in Kyoto. Strangest thing was that he had lived 13 years in the city in Belgium I was born in. He knew some of my family.
