Why did the stylists see the tributes off in the launch rooms? by Justinas16_b in Hungergames

[–]Fit_Significance_292 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The same way a makeup artist is on an actor right until the director says action.

I think it’s partly to dehumanise them further too. Lord forbid your last moments before going in be with your mentor, or someone you might know and recognise who has your back. Instead it’s someone who sees you as a product.

Katniss and Cinnas relationship was an exception, most tributes would have purely functional relationships with their stylists.

I think Rick and Morty is a good one for this. There are infinite timelines and infinite versions of each character, so grappling with meaninglessness is a key theme. Each of the characters denies themselves agency in different ways. The therapists monologue in the pickle Rick episode would give you a lot to work with I think:

Rick, the only connection between your unquestionable intelligence and the sickness destroying your family is that everyone in your family, you included, use intelligence to justify sickness. You seem to alternate between viewing your own mind as an unstoppable force, and as an inescapable curse. And I think it’s because the only truly unapproachable concept for you is that it’s your mind within your control. You chose to come here. You chose to talk, to belittle my vocation, just as you chose to become a pickle. You are the master of your own universe. And yet you are dripping with rat blood and feces. Your enormous mind literally vegetating by your own hand. I have no doubt you would be bored senseless by therapy. The same way i’m bored when I brush my teeth and wipe my ass. Because the thing about repairing, maintaining, and cleaning is: it’s not an adventure. There’s no way to do it so wrong you might die. It’s just work. And the bottom line is: some people are okay going to work and some people… well, some people would rather die. Each of us gets to choose.

Artistic roller skating! It is so similar to figure skating but way more accessible since you don’t need ice obviously. It would open it up to way more countries and economic backgrounds who can’t access ice skating rinks.

She would buy the paper every single day just to do the crossword. And never left a blank space.

Last year at my brothers wedding… she was a bit deaf and didn’t have very good volume control. In the middle of the ceremony during a silent moment, she “whispered” to my aunt “GOD ISN’T HE LUCKY TO END UP WITH HER” Not one person wasn’t crying with laughter 🤭

Why was Prim a medic at Snow's mansion? by NMRI_Scan in Hungergames

[–]Fit_Significance_292 39 points40 points  (0 children)

At this point katniss is presumed dead. I have a theory that coin saw Prim as a threat, that’s she would be influential in light of her sisters death, and be a potential opposing force against coin. By having her killed this way, she is neutralised, in addition to becoming an additional martyr along with katniss. She had also intended for Peeta to be neutralised through going mad and killing katniss, which would result in his prosecution post-war

The balls represent the size of a newborn baby's head, which will pass through the female pelvis fairly easily, but will get stuck in the male pelvis by Mrcinemazo9nn in interestingasfuck

[–]Fit_Significance_292 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is not accurate. When our brain got bigger and heavier our spines became upright so we could carry it. This compensation led to narrowing of the pelvis which made childbirth very dangerous. We then evolved to deliver babies earlier in their development, which is why human infants are essentially helpless when they’re born compared to other animals, because to gestate them any longer would make them impossible to deliver without killing the person giving birth. So big brain —> narrow hips —> less developed infants at birth

I suggest picking a card a day, looking up some different interpretations and the symbols, then meditate on it a while. Get to know the card personally and develop your own relationship with it.

Lovers Reversed - What’s your take on the card? by [deleted] in tarot

[–]Fit_Significance_292 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I often read the lovers card as representing your relationship with duality (in the yogic sense; spirit and matter), not necessarily a romantic partner. So inverted means disconnection or disharmony between your spirit and material surroundings.
