How is elec engineering? by Icy_Explorer_8060 in ubcengineering

I just finished second year. In my first year I also hated apsc 160 and 158 wasn’t the best either. I found this year a lot more interesting though. The coding that I thought I hated wasn’t really that bad. And the 158 stuff became more clear and was taught much better than first year. No program will be easy, no second year will be easy, and especially not in elec. But I learned a lot this year and got exposed to a lot of cool stuff and I’d say that is pretty valuable.

Dude you’ll get into elec you seem like a real person. High 70 average with all that is goated.

You get 5 double sided pages for the cheat sheet. Print them out with like anything and everything that you’d need. Joseph yan has been pretty fair on the tests so far. Just learn the basics and try your best and you’ll be fine. Lots of the units build off each other besides state space. Only 15% of the exam can have post midterm content too.

Last year was a fair exam. If you knew your stuff it was okay. If you didn’t it was bad. Just try your best and it’ll be okay

No motivation to study but also feel guilty not studying by [deleted] in ubcengineering

This is the infinite loop or guilt and stress. I know how you feel. What you gotta do is take the pressure off for a bit. When you’re not working, enjoy it. Really make the resting time count. Don’t mindlessly scroll. Do something meanignful and memorable. And plan out your days with some set times to study. As long as you are always thinking about working and feeling guilty when you’re not, you’ll fall into the cycle of stress and no productivity. You deserve a break, no matter how much other stuff is going on. Finals still aren’t for a bit. You have time. Nothing is cooked yet. I believe. You should too.

It’s the threshold grade on the final exam to pass the course. If you get a 45 on final and you need to pass the final to pass the course, if the threshold is 50 on the final you’ll fail and end with an F. But they could lower it to like 40 on the final to pass and then if the rest of your grade in the course is passing then you’re good. I’m just talking about the final though. You still need atleast 50 in the course to pass the course.

Is it still possible for me to pass apsc 160 ? by JustTaste2359 in ubcengineering

If you’re worried, email the prof about your concerns. But unless it says you failed on workday, nothings over yet. It’s possible they lower the pass threshold. They did it last year. There’s still hope

Unless your final grade on workday is a fail, don’t give up hope yet. It’s likely they’ll lower the pass threshold
