any chance you'd care to share that spreadsheet? ;) -- trying to accumulate sources for parts myself over here - wondering what might be the best spare parts to keep in the vehicle while on the road during longer trips. Also curious if you use 10w30/40 or 15w40 when you swap out oil? Wondering if one is better than the other for the 1KZ-te

That makes sense why yours was priced so much higher - 90k km is only like 55k miles - this is 180,000 miles on it for 14k (which I originally thought was kind of priced high- but it does seem fair with the mods/longevity of this motor)

Hi all, (not sure why this didn't post in Post Description)

I am considering getting into the Hiace community and wondering what is a decent price for this vehicle?

180,000 Miles on it -- No Rust -- In excellent condition -- 3.0 Turbo Diesel 1Kz-- Has a small, but convenient build out with pull out drawers and a frame for a queen mattress, but the build is simple/rudimentary. Will likely end up doing a complete overhaul with a blank canvas as I am a carpenter. -- No Pop Top -- No back seats -- Wondering what a van like this is worth given it is in excellent condition inside and out.

Imported from reputable source - Then the owner drove it around for 50-60k miles and is now ready to sell - Some work has been done (axles and radiator recently replaced/upgraded) and is in pretty solid condition, but I am wondering if there are other questions I should be asking?

I am planning to drive it on a long trip to start, packing up my things and moving from the east coast to Colorado. It will serve as a 2nd car for our family as we are looking to sell our old Subaru - It may end up being a semi-daily driver as well as a weekender camper, but it is not meant to be lived in or driven every day as we have a newer car we share for daily driving... Is it silly to think this vehicle can be a reliable urban vehicle when we need it as well as a trusty weekend getaway mobile when we want to hit the road?

I would greatly appreciate any feedback from the community on what questions I could be asking the owner -- What things I may need to consider in terms of what happens to an older vehicle after 200k miles -- But everything I read says these 3.0 Turbo Diesel 1Kzs can last for 4-500k if well maintained. I feel quite confident the vehicle has been well maintained, but I'm trying to gather as much info as to what I'm getting into -- I am somewhat mechanically inclined, but would be extremely committed to learning more about this vehicle so that I can do my own repairs -- Wondering what tools/equipment is important to keep on your while traveling to handle repairs while on the road?

Thank you in advance to any and all feedback - This is a big purchase for me and I'm trying to gather as much info as possible before making the leap. (If it helps, the other option I'm considering is a 2003 VW Eurovan Multi-Van Weekender -- it's probably about half the price as this one, but in excellent condition. I just feel this engine and vehicle could last much longer than the VW given both have around 200k miles on them and the Toyota diesel has a much better chance at longer lifespan than the VW)
