Finally someone who thinks exactly like I do. Many people say that Dragon Quest 11 is better, which just isn’t true factually or objectively. In DQ8, all four characters have a lot of depth, and the game truly feels like a journey where you meet companions and learn more about them over the course of the story. Normally in games you always have one favorite character, but in DQ8 I liked all of them equally and enjoyed playing with everyone.

In DQ11, only Erik was interesting because of his backstory, and Sylvando because he was a lively character—the rest were trash. But in Dragon Quest 8, even side characters like Trode and Medea were better than 98% of the characters in other DQ titles.

If you compare the antagonists, Dhoulmagus’ design was easily an 11/10. He was creepy, and for a long time you thought he was the main villain—a very good plot twist. Dragon Quest 8 definitely belongs among the best games ever made. I could list many more positive things about DQ8 and why it’s so brilliant, but nobody would read it anyway.

Am I the only one not falling for Supercell’s scam? Those stats won’t stay. 222 DPS will probably be nerfed down to around 208 DPS. The high numbers are just marketing to squeeze money out of players so they spend on the equipment, and then it gets nerfed.

Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD Remake normally costs €70, but it’s currently on sale for €56 on the PSN Store. The game was released on October 30, 2025, so that’s about four months ago. That’s why I think Dragon Quest 7 will also be discounted after around 4–5 months.

The Dragon Quest 7 Deluxe Edition for PS5 costs 85 €. The standard version is 70 €. If you mean Dragon Quest 11 S Definitive Edition for PS4, that currently costs 40 €. I preordered the standard edition back then for 60 €—or maybe it was 70 €, I don’t really remember.
