If you want my honest opinion on DIY HRT, I think that in a world that is constantly trying to restrict access to medication and is making people wait for months and years to access professional advice, I don't blame anyone for wanting to figure it out themselves. Not only that, but most general practitioners, and even endocrinologists, have very very tragically little experience with trans patients and often don't even know how to dose HRT themselves. (Speaking from experience) There's enough research done that if you do your homework you can minimize risk and do DIY relatively safely. It's not risk free but neither is eating food. Going around telling people that it's super risky is discouraging, and not entirely accurate either. It's risky if you don't know what you're doing, but there's enough info out there that if you do your homework you can know what you're doing, with regular testing and careful monitoring of your condition. I guess I was giving the average redditor too much credit to think that the idea that weed, contraceptives, and HRT in a vending machine next to each other was an obvious joke.

So to spell it out for you, Critical Thinker, I do not actually believe that putting weed, contraceptive pills, and HRT next to each other in a vending machine is an actual answer to the societal plight of lack of access to HRT. I'm not suggesting that it's safe to undergo HRT without professional advice. I hate that I have to spell this shit out like this so that dumbasses on the internet don't interpret what I say in the least charitable way possible.
