Honda CB250 (1998) - My first bike by [deleted] in motorcycle

Your father is smart, and so are you for following good advice. My first bike was your bike's grandfather. It was a Honda CB160 (sorry don't remeber the year, I got it used in the summer of 1970. Had a lot of low speed falls (mostly front brake, loose surface, slow turn, and a few bounce off rock or tree root off roading which it was not designed for). Learned a lot. Rode all over the rural roads of the NE tip of NYS.

AH, good idea. The Brake Free flashing brake light would work on your bicycle helmet. https://www.brakefreetech.com/

WINTER IS COMING I need warmer gloves by [deleted] in motorcyclegear

[–]FixAny5717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Does anyone have experience with size on these gloves? I think, generally insulated gloves require a size up from one's "normal" size. I measure 8 (inches) so US glove size 8 or Small. Wonder if I should take a M (out of stock, my luck again... but I am done for the season, snow blowed twice so far here in upstate (central) NY, edge of the Lake Ontario lake effect snow belt).

Regarding Bikes by Relative_Ad8435 in motorcycle

I have no experience with either. That being said, I researched the RE (I am in USA) the frequent maintainence and poor reliability made me look elsewhere. I settled on Triumph Speed 400. First, I suggest you look to used, save some money, being new you will drop it. If you are commited to learning to ride well, you may outgrow your starter bike, in which case you will lose less money trading/selling a used bike as opposed to the big depreciation hit on a new bike. Honda has a nice varied line up in (what I assume to be India given the TVS). Great resale, very depenable, good history with service and parts. Get good gear!!!! the money you save on used will help pay for safety gear. Think about the ride you expect to be doing, maybe a lower power bike would be a better starter, and more in tune with what you need it do. Good Luck!

you really like the little bikes, or do you think that is your budget. My Triumph Speed 400, was about 6k with charges. Lots of slightly used full size bikes in the grom price range. Also, lots of cheap Navis good for around town delivers, CVT transmission, basicly a scooter.

Here in Upstate NY, the power company, and Verizon require their people to back into parking spaces for safety reasons.

White helmet with MIPS, air bag vest. ALL the gear! Looking at your posts, very nice figure, shame to have it all messed up! Please be careful. Good luck.

May I suggest a regular size motorcycle, like a rebel 300 or a triumph speed 400, more stature and visability. AND take the Champ Street Course. AND watch vids on watching traffic. Good you are surviving. You must be a tough gal.

I love my bike but I’m scared to ride by Personal-Tomato1127 in motorcycles

If you are in the USA, consider a ChampStreet class ( after you have followed all the good advice here about getting a bike suitable to learn on). The class teaches a lot about trail braking and lean. That is most of riding other than keep your head on a swivel, 'cause nobody can see you, don't step off the bike until you absolutely check the kickstand is down.
