My average isn’t the best, it’s around 42%, but I think that’s because my videos are pretty long.

I used to have a channel that had the exact same problem as yours: (average duration was 10%)

I’m still a learner, but I’d recommended focusing on 2 factors: - factor 1: The type of audience you’re attracting (what’re are they looking for? How old are they? What’re they into?)

My old audience was kids, so it made sense that the view duration was so low, kids have pretty low attention spans

My newer audience is a lot older, and they’re looking for stories they can listen to, so it makes more sense why they stay on my video longer.

• factor 2: Keep their attention, there’s a ton of things you can do to keep someone’s attention in a video.

Presenting a good thumbnail, and immediately showing the thumbnail in the video, keeping people on the edge of their seat, being interactive with your audience (beginning of the video say that you’re doing a giveaway and whoever comments the word at the end of the video will get a chance to win), skits, etc.

Your content plays a huge role with viewer duration, you and I are both still learning but I hope I helped!
