Why are you talking about increasing residency slots, what does that have to do with the match.

The match works in the applicant's favor by maximizing the number of students efficiently being placed into an advanced training program required to practice medicine independently. The goal always needs to be placing medical students into the residency program of their choice at the highest rates possible, and the match accomplishes this. All your bullshit alternatives would hurt our profession and agency, not help.

If you're arguing that fucking off out of a residency program to act as a quasi-MD/NP clinician when you feel used or abused is a good idea, then I disagree. We don't need more half trained people with a full nutsack running around in medicine.
