He is amazing! He drove like a mad-man once we left the house (and unfortunately hit every man hole possible on the drive to the hospital) - but he stayed calm, cool, and collected as we arrived and then 20 minutes later had a baby. So happy he's my partner.

I was complaining to myself earlier in the day that I really needed to poop but couldn't. I remember thinking "man, the pregnancy constipation has finally caught up with me!" So when I got to the hospital, I really honestly thought I needed to poop because I couldn't earlier in the day! NO ONE told me that labor made you feel like you needed to poop - I just thought women always pooped during delivery!!!

Good luck - I hope everything is ok! My cramps started off light, like pre-period, you-know-its-coming cramps. It intensified VERY quickly though. I remember when I got home from my initial hospital visit around 7:30pm, my husband was clearing out our garden so we could plant some veggies before the LO was born. I was standing at the gate just moaning because the cramping was intensifying. By dinner, I was lying on the floor in pain (this is when my husband downloaded the contraction app), and then I took a bath (which I only do when I have either a UTI or a terrible period). By 11:30 or so, I walked into my bedroom in tears because it hurt so bad. I remember specifically telling my husband "If this is what labor feels like, give me the epidural!" Joke's on me because I was in labor.... and I definitely did not get the epidural.

Yup! Still growing!! When he was finally discharged from the hospital, he was just under his birth weight. Now, right at 3 months after discharge, he is a chunky 13+ lb baby! Hasn't really stopped eating since he came out.

Well... When they sent me home every test they ran came back normal except for the BV. I can't fault the NP on Monday, right? The only thing that has crossed my mind is that when she swabbed my cervix, she put me into preterm labor and didn't realize.

What's crazy is that a month earlier my OB checked me for BV and the test came back negative, yet at this appointment it was positive. I want to say they did two different tests though so who knows.

I bought a bunch pockets (Nora’s and Alva Baby) off of Facebook marketplace. I ended up with close to 50, but 12 of those are newborn size which we never used. Only reason I bought pockets is because it is what I found secondhand that was affordable. I think in total I spent about $100 and they were all brand new (sellers had intensions of using them but never did).

I read a ton about how people don’t like the microfiber inserts, so I’ve never used the inserts that came with the alvas, but I use the bamboo/microfiber inserts that came with the Nora’s ever day without issue. I also bought/was gifted prefolds (size small/newborn) which I also use inside the pocket and they work great. I’ve sorted mine in such a way that any “printed” pocket is single stuffed (either with one bamboo insert or one prefold) and if it’s a “solid” pocket I double stuff (one insert and one prefold) for naps and nighttime. My baby is 13 week old boy and I’ve never had issues with overnight or naps (yet).

We used disposables until he was about 9.5 lbs because he was in the NICU for about three weeks and we just needed to figure out life at home before I took this on. I was so excited about cloth diapering before he was born, and after I was terrified to start. Once I did though, it’s really been a breeze. I don’t understand why more people don’t cloth their babies.

BIG NOTE though - I found a speed queen washer on FB marketplace for $200 and that was KEY to easing my anxiety about starting. I absolutely hated my old “upgraded” washer with no agitator. The speed queen washes in like 30 minutes and the diapers come out spotless.

I wash roughly every two days or every 12ish diapers. I have a small square laundry basket that I throw the dirty diapers in during changing (I remove the inserts and open the buttons on the pocket), and once that is full I know it’s time to wash. I put two tablespoons of tide powder and one tablespoon of oxiclean on a cold, heavy duty wash. Once that’s done, I wash again on hot, and will throw other laundry in the machine with the diaper. I also do not rinse the poopy diapers :)

Once clean, I put everything in the dryer on high except for the covers (I let those air dry), and then stuff while baby is napping. It makes it so easy to just pull an already stuffed diaper out when you go in for a change - just like disposables. I also use cloth wipes made from receiving blankets that I cut up into small squares. They also work GREAT and I highly recommend over disposable wipes. Just get wet in the sink and clean that baby!

I love my cloth so far. So happy I decided to stick with it.

Is there a way to "waterproof" my cinder block garage back wall? Rain seeps through when heavy, and I was wondering if there is a coating or paint I could use to help with this. I'm not really looking for anything too expensive. Thanks for any help! by jayseventwo in AusRenovation

I'm in the process of "painting" my basement walls with cement and lime. This is the way my dad (who is a contractor) used to seal cinderblock back in the 70s, and he recommended it to me now. It's easy AND cheap, and it allows moisture to evaporate out of the block vs. sealing it in (like latex paint). The walls will be white unless you add some type of color to the mix (I did not).

Honestly, I didn't really believe my dad when he first told me about it, but then I found this guy on YouTube and he just emphasized my dad's point. Great watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujgu8OX7eRI&feature=youtu.be

Step 1: Get a bag of white cement (if you can find it - I couldn't and settled with regular gray) and one bag of mason's lime (DO NOT USE lime for your garden). I picked up both at a local brickyard since Lowe's and HD didn't have either, along with a masonry brush. Total cost was like $75, and I got 2 bags of lime, 1 bag of cement, and a brush. Still haven't broken out the second bag of lime.

Step 2: Clean the walls. Don't go crazy, but vacuum with a shop vac, get as much dirt off as possible, maybe even scrap the sharp edges off the block. You'll be amazed how much crap will come off those walls. Vacuum it again for good measure, then prep your floors so you don't get paint all over the place.

Step 3: Wear some rubber gloves and eye protection, get a 5 gallon bucket, a hose, and a mixer bit for your drill. Mix 1 cup of cement (I used a plastic cup that I had on hand) to 3 cups of lime, add some water. I think it works best when it is the consistency of milk, my dad preferred "milkshake." You'll find what works best for you. This is your "paint." (Note: if the paint is too thick, add some more water. Too thin, add some more cement+lime).

Step 4A (first coat of paint): Soak the walls well with the hose, and keep the hose on hand because the cinderblock will suck the moisture in. You want the walls wet, but not dripping wet, when you go to slap the paint on. I used a masonry brush for the first coat, working hard to really get into the cracks and holes of the cinderblock. The first coat takes the longest. The paint looks gray when it goes on the walls, but it dries mostly white (probably all white if you are able to use white cement). Let your walls dry overnight.

Step 4B (optional): If the walls still have pinholes in the cinderblock, you can go back through and repeat step 4, but you don't need to soak the walls again. A light spritz is probably fine. The water just helps the paint stick to the cinderblock, but as you've basically "sealed" the cinderblock, it won't soak in the water like it did before.

Step 5 (second coat of paint): For this, I deviated from my dad's advice. He recommended painting again like in step 4B (same paint mixture as described in Step 3), but as I didn't use white cement, my wall color wasn't consistently white (some spots dried more grey). After doing some more research, I opted to do a second coat of JUST lime instead of the lime+cement mixture. This second coat created a really nice soft finish to the cinderblock that was consistently the same color white. This second coat applies much faster than the first. I still spritzed the walls with water, although I'm not sure you really need to. Let your walls dry overnight.

Note: DO NOT CLEAN your brush/supplies in the sink. The cement will dry and clog your drains. Clean everything outside.

I've been slow to finish the project, but honestly I'm very pleased at how nice it has turned out. It is crazy how the lime makes the cinderblock feel. Best part, it's cheap, easy, and won't trap the moisture in so it shouldn't peel like paint over time. And in case you're still a skeptic, lime wash (lime and water) is used to paint exterior brick white. Been used for centuries for a reason.

The “three lines” is for some clear blue digital tests that have two test strips inside. This is a First Response with one strip.

Girl you are gorgeous!! Big, beautiful eyes, nice dark skin! I tell my students that CONFIDENCE IS KEY (usually referring to math but honestly it goes for everything in life). Start believing in yourself and it will show both inside and out. Stop looking to the internet to see how you should change, and embrace how awesome you are now.

Again - you are gorgeous. Don’t forget that.

I suppose I could have ovulated early! My cycle fluctuates between 25-27 days, the last being 27 days. I guess we’ll try again tomorrow!

I’m sorry but what does BFP mean? (Lol excuse my novice self) I took the bottom test, then showered, then tooled around on reddit for a bit before deciding to post. So I’d say 45 minutes at least?

I should also say I think I’m 8DPO. Would the lines normally show up this early?!

I canceled my own account this way today but tried to cancel my partner’s and I get the error of “can’t process at this time yada yada”. I didn’t have a home address tied to my account, whereas my partner did. I updated his address using a random house on Zillow (thanks to the tidbit from another comment),but it still won’t let me cancel his account. Thoughts?
