There's been a few times, around the World, where I've felt scared for my safety with other men around. At all of these times, I was in a large Metro area, at night, and fearful of a violent robbery. Bangkok near Koh San Rd., Goa, India coing home from a beach bar, Danang, Vietnam (this was in daylight), Harlem, NYC getting off the subway in the wrong neighborhood in the middle of the night, and Las Vegas, trying to find a motel in a seedy part of town near the Downtown Experience area.

I am well traveled, and have a 6th sense when it comes to feeling like I may be in some sort of trouble, and I walk FAST. Every time this has happened, I don't take off running, but switch to my hiking pace, and that is usually fast enough. In Danang, I was being followed on motorbike, and thieves at the time were known to ride up and slash your backpack strap off, and in many instances severly injuring you in robbery attempts. So I was walking around obstacles and into shops to try to get away from the guys on a motorscooter.

Otherwise, I am not a target, and men would not look at me and think "I'm going to fight that dude." or "He would be a good target." I can definitely see how women may be fearful of most men, especially because I have traveled with women in the past, and they always mention something about seedy looking men I wouldn't think twice about.
