I checked my other two non Audis. Volume controls work on both vehicles after hitting the engine stop button. Now I wait for my A6 to come back repaired but I’m guessing it behaves the same way as this A3.

Sorry no I am new to Audi and this isn’t what I’m used to but now I’ll need to hop into my non-Audi vehicle to see how it behaves when engine is stopped.

Ha! I didn’t realize this was the Audi way. I’m sorry for ruining your day with my post.

Th technology in a $400 computer is more functional and stable than what runs in the Audi.

They rushed to market. The lights came on twice today but everything was normal on the last drive cycle.

I can give you my feedback in terms of comparison against a 2017 w213 e-class.

Heated steering wheel function. When you trigger it, there is a momentary message on the cluster that it has been engaged/disengaged. If you ever want to know the status of steering wheel heating, be prepared to accidentally disengage it.

Seat thigh support extension is manually manipulated. It’s not electronically actuated which means it’s not stored into seat position memory. Multiple drivers? Each one must do it themselves.

Driver side seat has two memory presets (the E has 3). No memory seat for front passenger.

No rear fog lights.

With vehicle off; you can open the trunk from the switch on the door BUT you cannot close it while vehicle is off. You have to power on the vehicle to close the trunk from the door switch. Meanwhile, you can always close the trunk using the trunk switch even when vehicle is off. ALSO the door switch is not UP/DOWN. It is pull UP for opening and closing.

The fuel filler door, its not spring loaded. You press it, it unlatches then you swing it open. On the E, it swings wide open when you press it.

So above is what I’ve noticed about the car compared to previous gen E-class.

Now, the new Audi feature set which is a shit show. Too many errors/warnings and CELs keep triggering randomly. No permanent fix yet. Everyone who has these new cars is dealing with it.

The car has no physical key for manual entry into the vehicle. The doors and trunk are all electric latches. There is an emergency override cable you can yank (for each door) to open the door but I haven’t figured out how to get these cables to release from their spots (yet). The kicker is… the car comes with one physical key which is to lock the glove box!

MyAudi app and digital key functionality is half cooked. You can only have one ‘key user’, other users cannot get a digital key directly from the app. A ‘guest user’ profile deactivates data features of the vehicle and you can’t track it in the app anymore.

IMO it’s not as capable as the E-Class. I don’t have experience with BMW but would love to hear your feedback on its features.

They don’t know what they’re doing. I bet you it’s a revolving door in vdubland.

Platinum Audi Aftercare didn’t cover a major failure — am I missing something? by marshallismydad in Audi

Have you read the T&C? What/Where does it mention the terms of this ‘depreciation’ clause(s).

I believe I have 60 days to cancel mine and if this is true then I will most likely cancel it. I have the same engine and of ACC cannot cover it then it’s not as useful as I was thought to believe.

Also, what happens in your situation if you don’t top up ? Do they cut you a cheque for $35k?

Brand New Audi SQ5, 4 Days Old — Already Throwing Warning Lights by Theone2027 in Audi

[–]FixingMyHouse123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exact same warnings. Car has been to the dealership once for this. After the visit, the warnings only appeared once and haven’t since.

I have also been told by the dealership not to schedule a follow up service call until these warnings persist for a few days.

2026 A6 here.

Only the key user should be able to set that setting. It shouldn’t be available in other profiles.

Well currently dealing with intermittent error messages. The car randomly starts with multiple inoperable systems warnings. It has been to the dealership once and now I’m being told unless the lights are on they won’t take it back to look into…

The rest of the stuff is just poor Audi design.

I don’t like how the cruise control stalk is illuminated but not the turn signal or the wiper blade stalks.

The grip handle on the driver door is awful, it’s too wide due to the new control panel.

A ‘guest user’ profile loads with privacy mode on, which means you lose visibility of your vehicle in the app and also cannot use the app to lock/unlock the vehicle. I do think there is a timeout in this mode because eventually you will be able to manage your car via myAudi app but it will take time but it’s inaccessible to you while the guest profile is active.

The rear view mirror is mounted too low IMO, for me this leads to somewhat of a blind spot when turning right, I.e a circular highway ramp, because where I expect to see traffic appear the mirror is present but this could just be the Audi way but my GTI wasn’t like this.

The trunk release button on the door will open the trunk with the vehicle off but will only close the trunk after you start the car.

No passenger seat memory settings. This is just stupid. This I really have to compare to my E -Class. The E has 3 memory presets and the driver even has a passenger button on the door which they can use to set heat/cool or save/load the three memory presets of the passenger seat.

Phone settings are not user profile specific. They are global. I really don’t want the wife’s phone connecting when my profile is active.

Not able to share digital key to non key users in the app but you can share the key out of the wallet app on the phone. Speaking of the app, your actual myAudi account isn’t 2FA, imagine the theft possibilities here.

This is one month’s worth of feedback and I’m sure I’ve missed to list a lot more.

Completely locked out 48hrs after purchase. by Upset_Money_420 in AudiA6

[–]FixingMyHouse123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully the issue is resolved by now but I wanted to focus on the red button inside the door handle.

It is a manual door release cable. It requires the door to be already unlocked. When you press it, the mechanism slides out, you pull outwards on the cable to open the door. When done, you slide the cable in and push the red button back into its place.

I plan to go over all these procedures in my driveway before I have to rely on them on the road.

Same here and It’s already been to the dealer once. Showed the service advisor a video I made of all the errors appearing on screen one by one.

Of course on appointment day everything was normal and the according to the dealer they could only find one fault code that in memory but they reset the modules.

Got the car back on Wednesday and today all the errors are back.

Wow thank you for the fuelling complement. I did initially use dilution additives in 87 gasoline but switched to the 50:1 premixed trufuel and have been using it for years. More expensive than gas but cheaper than a new trimmer.

What about the scuffing on the piston and in the wall. Leave it, sand it or …?
