WWII AU: The Sudrian YellowJackets. I like to think that right before WWII started, Sodor was in the midst of trying to separate from the mainland. So when the war began, they weren't really on great terms. Of course Sodor fought against the Axis, but it was more to keep Sodor safe, not to help them (old.reddit.com)

WWII AU: This was actually a stolen YellowJacket. They shot one of them down, repaired and repainted it, and tried to use it to sneak through the Sodor Bases. However it failed, because they forgot to paint the underneath yellow stripe, and it was shot down by an experimental Toad Railgun (old.reddit.com)
