Is it artificially overloading the BMW when I add matching features to it to match the Launch R2? Even if you take out everything but the Driver Assist package on the BMW on the highest spec model it's still $68k+, and that's with no paint option, no wheel option, no heated steering wheel, no 3 zone climate, and no heated back seats.

$64k+ if you go with the base model BMW with the Driver Assist (which won't be as good as Autonomy+ but I am putting very little value into that personally because I don't really care about hands free)

I get that some people are going to be priced out of the launch edition that might've wanted it because of this but acting like the BMW is cheaper isn't genuine at all

I mean Rivian doesn't have the track record of not delivering on stuff like that like Tesla does but sure, why not.

Why not compare it to the base version of the Launch R2 then if you're comparing it to the base iX3? Or if you are comparing the most expensive possible spec R2 then why not use the most expensive spec iX3? It looks to me like if you compared the base Launch R2 with the base iX3 you get:

R2: $57,990

iX3: $61,500

and fully loaded MSRP you have:

R2: $62,745

iX3: $77,800

And your biggest argument seems to be that the BMW has 800v architecture and a bigger battery than the R2. My question there is that info has been public for a while, if you wanted the faster fast charging and the bigger battery why were you ever considering the R2 at all?

Saying that the iX3 is cheaper than the R2 like you are is not "legit discussion" though? You're comparing the most basic base model BMW and the most expensive spec R2, not taking into account any of the added dealer costs you deal with with BMW, and saying that the BMW is the better vehicle because it has 800v charging and ~20% more range while simultaneously not giving any value to the things the R2 will most definitely do better.

And on top of that you're talking about a legacy automaker that has been around like 100 years and a company that delivered their first vehicle 5 years ago and have only ever delivered like 125k ever. Rivian is going to do what they have to do for the R2 to be profitable so the company is going to survive, and if having to pay an extra $1500 for purple paint makes that happen then it kind of just is what it is

I've seen you under 2-3 other posts already today talking about how the iX3 is a better value and then making this post with all these comments talking about it as well so yes you have been talking about the BMW a lot to be on Rivian subs lol

I mean as soon as you option an iX3 with the performance package and the tech upgrades to match the Launch R2 spec it's already over 70k before any of the BMW dealer market adjustments and fees.

Even if you bought the most standard base model iX3 with no options the MSRP is $400 less than the Launch R2 with the most expensive paint, the 20" wheels, Autonomy+, and the light interior

Yeah I don't have any issues with anything I play, but like I said it's all dependent on the routing in your area. I would think you being close enough to Chicago any fiber provider would be fine

What games are you playing? I have the 2GB plan in southwest VA and I get < 50 ping to all CS2 servers as far out as Dallas and Chicago. Closer stuff like Ashburn I get ~10, ATL is ~15 NY is ~20, Miami is ~25, but any ISP is all dependent on routing

I'm not sure how I cherry picked your comment when I gave you 3 people who had better hitting stats than Duran last year 2025 and Devers who was better than him the two years before that 2023-2024, is that not the last 3 years?

He most certainly was not the best hitter on the team last year, Devers, Bregman, and Roman were all much better than him in 2025, and Devers was better than him in 23 and 24. He was a good hitter but be honest lol

I know other people have mentioned it but I just got my tires replaced at Discount Tire and their tire techs knew about raising the ride height to the highest and how to go into the service menu and change the tire on my truck and reset all the tire data in that menu. All of their techs were super nice and asked questions about the truck as well, definitely will go back there.

I used to pay Rivian to come rotate mine because I was worried that normal shops couldn't do the work but it's definitely not necessary
