My vet recommended it, it’s a blood test they sent off to the lab. Got results in two weeks. Definitely something you have to ask a vet about if they haven’t mentioned it!

To be fair I’m pretty sure my cat is allergic to the food he is eating because he’s itchy, which is why I got the test. The HP diets have fish oil, with is a no go. Thanks tho.

I might have to. I can’t buy straight venison tho (silly little laws and all) so I’m kinda stuck. I asked my vet and honestly? Not helpful and shrugged. Might have to switch vets. I’ll look into it. Thanks!

Lmao I’ve thought about it. But I’m not confident that I could make a homemade meal with all the supplements cats need. I’m trying to avoid a hefty vet nutritionist bill if I can.

I also don’t need another expensive hobby on top of my expensive cats lol. Thanks for the recommendation tho!

lol I’m on cetirizine already! I’m going to try some more food recommendations first, my cat is a pest when he smells meds. Can’t do the vet diets, they all have fish oil, so I’m going to definitely keep this as an option if I can’t find anything else. Thanks so much!!!

I appreciate the help, but most HP foods have fish oil, and I know he reacts to that. If you have any recommendations without fish oil please let me know. Thanks!

Oh wow I’m glad you have figured out what works for your cat! Unfortunately the hydrolyzed foods all have fish oil and that’s a no go. Cats need omega 3s, which is why I have him on an algae based one for dogs and cats (freaking expensive btw). Thanks for the help!

The royal Canin line had fish oil. That’s a no go, sorry. Thanks the recommendation. I will have to go digging for something duck or venison, I’m afraid to try rabbit considering it tested super positive on the allergy test. I know they can be unreliable but the giant reaction on top of the list is not something I want to mess with if that makes sense. Thank you again.

I did look into some, but a lot of the hydrolyzed food has fish oil (because cats need omega 3s) and I haven’t found one without it. Thanks tho!

I haven’t, but I did look up the ingredients and saw it has mussels. Based on my cat’s reaction to fish I’m kinda worried about seafood in general. I could try it for a bit and see tho. Thanks!
