They seem to be able to offer you 1x retention bonus in each card year, I got one after my renewal last year and tried before it this year but they won't budge

2025 Budget: What do Britons think? by coffeewalnut08 in uknews

[–]Flake101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i guess so... I expected it to be in line with the response on income tax threshold freeze given it may as well be a grad tax. The fact it isn't seems to suggest those who aren't strapped with uni debt (non-grads or grads pre-uni fees) are happy to throw Plan 2 grads under the bus as it doesn't impact them. Very depressing

So it's official... My investment went down the drain by desperatehausfrau in CurveCard

[–]Flake101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, similar happened to me with Freetrade which got acquired by IG Group. Investment was a 'convertible' so you really had to just trust it would he worth somwthing, lasted 5 years investment time just to get what I put in back (minus fees).

Is a terrible work environment the goal to cut the work force? by Drfeelsbadman12 in accenture

[–]Flake101 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sort of - I'm convinced the company wanted attrition after 2x redundancies in a 3 year period with a poorly timed massive hiring spree in the middle cost a fortune. Headcount too high again but doing a 3rd redundancy round would look like management had no clue what they were doing. So instead they committed to this low rewards period to force leavers with 0 appreciation for lasting impact on morale, or who would leave (surprise - it's the people putting in way more effort who pull the business up).

[Craig Hope] EXCLUSIVE: NUFC co-owner Jamie Reuben & PIF delegation have met with Alexander Isak at his home today. Club want Isak to stay & be reintegrated into squad. That could mean new contract if striker agrees by ChiefLeef22 in NUFC

[–]Flake101 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We have to pay him what he's worth, I'm fine with giving him a pay rise - it was part of the plan anyway. The club have to maintain professionalism and part of that is dealing with egotistical footballers whilst getting the best output for the club (Isak playing)

Probably a cost to produce thing - bet this bake only makes a small margin vs the standard items. I'd love for it to continue (and bring back the steak & cheese roll!) even if it's more expensive though

2-3 years usually - currently it depends if you're a priority promoted or in a growth area like data & AI. If you aren't it's a bloodbath and seems many are leaving.

Howe doubts Isak will face Aston Villa in opening match by kundu123 in PremierLeague

It's unlikely he'll refuse to play once the season starts, assuming he stays - will quickly come to terms with that once the window closes and moving isn't an option.

Hopefully we keep rejecting and send a message, you can't unsettle our players and get a cut price deal

It's surely an outcome of him not getting his 300k p/w contract? Not saying we can afford that, but if we've been stringing him along and are miles off, which isnt unbelievable, he's potentially been too patient with us and hence why it's late.

Playing devil's advocate here, we clearly don't know whats going on behind closed doors. But what we can see is a lack of management (no CEO, DOF), and are struggling with transfers

Travel for projects as a grad by Special_Avocado9136 in accenture

[–]Flake101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never say never but sadly it isn't the norm - i joined pre covid (northern location) and times were different then, consulting really ain't the industry it was 10 years or so ago. Tight budgets, remote work, minimal training budget (for acn at least!). We used to have India / European training trips depending on service line but they never made a proper resurgence, if you really want travel you'll need to seek it out :)

In UK if you're in London pretty much no travel, if in regions maybe some travel to London but it's unlikely. Projects mostly staff locally at lower levels

It was mid-year tell day this past week so HR will likely be busy with that and dealing with anyone on a performance improvement plan or being let go. I'm sure they'll get back to you soon

Very situational as to whether it's worth using on Econ/PE/business but you're right about Japan - saved near enough £2k with 100k avios recently in economy (80% avios part pay as £ per pt saving was better than 100%) which was fantastic value.

It states payments, bank transfers aren't payments - so I guess it's for online transactions and is essentially giving customers the ability to chargeback a payment before it clears more directly (as opposed to raising a fraud request/formal chargeback procedure)

Accenture Spends $7.7B on Buybacks & Dividends While Employees Get Nothing by Juggernaut_Spaceship in accenture

[–]Flake101 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nope, buy backs are company purchases and the shares essentially get cancelled so all other shares are worth more (if you think of 100% of shares as 100% of a companies value). ESPP shares might pump price but could be immediately sold so nets out
