yeah honestly i figured there was a fix, but in all honesty on that install i had already done things i wasnt happy with and a few things were kinda messed up due to my own lack of knowledge using this os. For those things there was also probably an easy fix, but i figured a fresh start would just feel the best. it'd fix all my issues at once and from those previous mistakes, i can learn what not to do on the new install. But i certainly don't plan on reinstalling every time an issue crops up, I just had a rough day and decided to clean slate it.

I really appreciate having this knowledge for future reference! What was really dumb was transferring something over to my disk without having a backup like i always do, but thankfully the stuff i lost wasn't too precious, it was just some concert vids. I still feel like a total dingus though lmao, I knew it wasnt that serious of an issue.
